| I'm looking to do some simple upgrading to the M4 Commando.
I'm not interested in increasing the length(longer barrell) to increase accuracy, i'd like rate of fire up and be right @ 375-400 fps(stay legal).
obviously i'm planning to upgrade the battery i use to a 9.6, any suggestions on type or manufacturer. do you suggest the big ole bulky battery pack, PEQ?(do i need a laser sight) how much does this really help. over a simple 9.6.
P.S. I'm Cheap. LOL _________________ ECHO 1 M4 COMMANDO VSR clone W/ Bushnell 3-9x32E ILL |

| Well I would suggest investing in a high speed motor and also buy some high speed gears. It is amazing what an upgraded motor can do. My Systema Magnum is great in my CA36c. As far as FPS go, you could upgrade to a heavier spring. A Systema M120 would put you pretty close to what you are looking for. While you are in the gearbox, you might as well put some metal shims in and get the gears moving a little smoother. You may also want to get a new piston with some sort of metal teeth if you plan on getting a stiffer spring with a higher output motor. Check out this motor: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=39_48&products_id=763 If that one seems a little high priced, you could get this and notice a slight increase as well: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=39_48&products_id=188 Batteries: think of the voltage as ROF and the MAH as the capacity of the battery. With a mini 9.6v / 1200mah you will get the same ROF as a 9.6v / 3000 mah large battery, but you will get about half as many shots per charge. PEQ boxes work really nice if you can put one on your M4. They allow you to have access to the battery a little easier without disassembling the replica all the time. I have one of these in my PEQ box, seems to do the trick: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=198 Accuracy: if you do decide you want some more FPS, range, and accuracy, you should consider a tightbore barrel. Systema makes a nice barrel for the money that is a 6.04mm and you can find them in any length. You will notice a significant increase in accuracy. http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=39_45&products_id=152
Hope that helps. |

| awesome, You are the man. Do you know of any good sites that have any tutorial's on upgrading. I've had my stuff apart, and i know how it all works, i just would love to check out some step by step upgrading. I think i'll get some wear on the gears and motor before i upgrade them. If i were to upgrade the spring to a 120 would that also require the more powerful motor(would it burn up the stock motor). I may simply upgrade the battery on the M4 and put the Internal upgrades into the VSR-10. BTW was the AEG upgrade subject up when i originally posted this. LOL. i have an awesome habit of posting stuff in the wrong thread. _________________ ECHO 1 M4 COMMANDO VSR clone W/ Bushnell 3-9x32E ILL |

| The following website is very informative and has all kinds of information related to Airsoft as well as reviews on GBB/AEG/etc... www.arniesairsoft.co.uk This link will take you straight to the mechbox tear down link from the same site. It really helps the first couple of times you open one up. http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/articles/skyfire/mechbox/index.htm
Just remember to re-align everything and make sure everything goes back together really nice and easy. Dont force anything. Also another small tip, when you do get ready to open the mechbox, put a small screw driver in the back of the spring guide and as soon as you have enough clearance, remove the spring/spring guide from the back of the mechbox so nothing shoots out at you. |

| if you need another video tutorial try this: http://www.mechbox.com/site/ < go to JG M733 for diassembly/reassembly vids.
and the motor thing depends on what gun u have(E1, JG, TM, CA) but i think ur talking about the E1 or the JG so yes i would recomend another motor. i think if you want great ROF i would go with the Systema Magnum Speed motor(blue i think, its in seabasses links). but if you realy are that cheap and just want something that will pull a 120 then i would go with the Marui EG1000: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=39_48&products_id=188
hope i helped
