Wow, I will try to hold myself back on this one. What a waste. To me you might as well hold up a big sign that say "I am a pansy, please don't shoot me... I have no talent!"
I am sorry, but I recently played against a person who hid behind his and blind fired over the top of it... I was quite mad. Anybody else run into one of these?

in OP:SF1 we had storage pallets (the wood ones, i dont know what they are called exactly) that we were allowed to use as mobile shields. personally i didnt use them, but my CO and a a merc used them regularly. they didnt blind fire over them though. personally they just slowed them down till they got to cover.

i dont think they should be allowed in games because the medium duty blast shields of today (about the same weight as an improvised blast shield) cant take the pressure of 5.56 rounds in rapid session, never mind a .308 lupa from an M24 or an M700.

I think if the wimp from this past weekend was going to continue to use the shield, I was going to trade my gun in for a can of spray paint. Try to look out of that.

Just sticking your gun over the shield to shoot is the worst idea ever. If he shot me I could say "Well my vest is bullet proof."

Roamer, is that good enough of holding back what I REALLY wanted to say?

Just pick up a stick and start beating him with it and call it your sword.

I used one, if you saw my post in the airsoft cover, i used a sheet of metal as one to rush a house... i think they are fair game for CQB up agianst smaller arms like GBB pistols.. not AEGS

I really think this guy was too scared of getting hit honestly. I wanted to push him over, sandwhich him on the ground, and shoot him point blank. I don't know much about real life blast shields, but I am willing to bet that sooner or later they will fail... but there is no way my AEG is going to shoot through that thick plastic!

I understand the attempt at realism in indoor games where SWAT teams would actually use a blast shield to clear rooms - but using them in airsoft is actually making things less realistic. Why not just get a circular clear plastic shield that surrounds your entire body, with a single little hole to stick your gun's barrel out of, and clear rooms that way. That way you'd never get shot.

In all honesty, that's what they might as well have done in the last game I played where the kids used a blast shield. Two of them literally hid behind this thing the entire time, yelling cocky statements to their opponents not realizing the unfairness of the situation. It made for a very unrealistic, unfair, boring game. Even if those using blast shields "promised" not to just stick their guns out from behind it and fire, but actually stick their heads out, what are the chances of that actually happening and still being fair? Not likely. Just my opinion though.

Maybe if they allowed opponents to kick over the shield while they're behind it Twisted Evil

Actually... I have to be honest, if I could get close enough to the shield I would hesitate to knock it over. If they get hurt, maybe they would think about not using it next time.

Either that, or I would just stick my M203 over the top of it and let them have the 180 BB's they deserve for being camper's.

Of course, then there is the old saying, fight fire with fire. I guess you could have found a large piece of thick cardboard, some wood, etc... and use that as a "SWAT shield". Then slowly approach there shield until your entire team can spring out from behind it and light them up like a Christmas tree. Very Happy

Correction, that is why Seabass and Slacker are on our side. Could you imagine what Slacker would do to the blast shield?

Trust me, one of us would take one for the team and tackle the guys behind the blast shield... even if that meant getting hit by about 100 BB's in the process. It would just be worth letting everyone light them up. Very Happy

well, i think this would be a great time to try out a new airsoft C4. i mean, they're running away from you like a wuss, so you just press the little button and you have them taken care of! but i dont think it should be a part of regular airsoft
