| well i would go with echo 1 if you are trying to convert an M16 to a DMR or sniper rifle. the reason is echo 1 uses much better gears than JG does which when your trying to upgrade a gun gears are a really expensive part to replace.... another option for you to take is the new CA sportline series. pretty much an Echo 1 with better external plastic http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/index.php?cPath=21_22_37_86
i would stay away from Kapowwe, in the past they have had some very astounding mishaps with their guns. i can personally recomend airsoftsmith.com airsoftgi.com and airsoftatlanta.com
airsoftsmith is probably your best bet if you are trying to upgrade your gun. the smiths there are extremely knowledgeable, and most of them have been smithing for 7+ years. there Echo 1 prices are pretty cheap, and when you buy from them its a flat $20 for gun work every time you visit(other companies charge by the hour).
as far as the Le retractable stock goes, im parting out my M4 and i can sell you one for $20 with the buffer tube (the thing that the actual stock sits on). i wouldent recomend rewiring the battery to the front because of space issues and other stuff like that. you can get a battery bag that attaches to the LE stock from airsoftsmith for like $14 so its pretty cheap. also if you were going to rewire a gun to the front you would have to buy new wiring to do so. i was going to rewire my m4 to the back but i decided to just keep it in the front because of the costs of new wiring. beleive me when time comes just stick with wire to back.
im assuming that because you want a LE stock that you are a smaller person. if thats true i would go with a different gun like an G36C and get a silencer. this setup is one of the best ive seem for smaller DM's. if you are looking for a SASS (semi auto sniper system) not a DMR(designated Marksman rifle) then i would go with an M14 or M16 and stick with the longer stock.
after playing with a M4 DMR style weapon for 2 years, and playing many games with M14's and M16's if you have the money and strength i would deffinately check out the M14's. butifle weapons. im currently getting some funds together to get a CA M14, which at the cost of $250 is the most cost efficient DMR on the market today. now you are probably thinking why not the echo1 line of M14's? right. well ill give you a few but then im going to let someone else take a shot at this.
1: clone m14 is going to be a hi-cap mag gun only. with more and more local games requiring mid and low caps only thats out of the question.
2: just ask seabass how his Echo 1 performed with a 120+ spring........
3: if you plan on gutting the echo 1 or not CA parts are much higher quality. therefor you would have to replace alot less parts when you are itching for higher FPS(and you will itch very badly in time)
4: Externally the CA is the king of M14's. E1 uses the Kart bran M14 as a base for its M14 line. which in turn means that basically you are getting Kart externals. kart M14's have had a habit of breaking near the trigger. most people with Kart M14's have swapped out their stock bodies with TM stock bodies, and at the cost of $70 that is not cheap (BTW 150 E! M14 + 70 for a TM body= 220 another 30 and you could have a CA).
5: CA uses a TM style hop-up which has been know with stock springs (290-300FPS) to out reach a M4 or M16 with a M110 spring (330-350FPS). now put a M120 spring (380-400FPS) and theoretically you would have the range of an M series gun shooting 450FPS. Echo 1 has a G3 hop (i may be wrong but i know its not an M14 hop).
6: unfortunately many more people will consider you less of a noob if you get the CA. i try not to judge people based on their gun decisions because i know what its like to be on a budget
7: im going to buy a CA M14 here soon, heres the parts list im making for my CA M14(notice how bare boned it is)
CA M14 : $250 M14 mount : $30 563mm barrel : free for me but would be $30-60 M120 spring : $13 scope : $35 (if you have a scope already i woud recomend some shimms) bench fee : $20 (im going to put everything in myself, but you would want a bench fee)
TOTAL : $358-400
for an echo
E1 M14 : $150 piston W/head : $50 spring : $13 Barrel : $30-60 gears : $70 motor : $40 for a stock CA or TM Hop-up bucking : $10 silencer : $30
TOTAL : $ 393 with a bad barrel and no scope
ultimately you decide what gun you get. the above math also can be used for any M series gun considering that they are the same price as the other models.
hope that helps

| wow the only thing is i dont really like m14s(no offense),i really want to get a gun that was more useful to my needs. And the M16A4 meet most of those needs(execpt the stock of course). And most of the upgrades meet my budget to.i will take the advice though sticks, i always take advice even if i dont like it,so none of ur writting went to waste thanks for telling me about kapowwe, all thoough i might buy a M14 for a sniper later if i save up the money(right now im pushing my parants budge, which makes me feel gulity for some odd reason) But i cant thank u enough for all the advice. it really helps.
p.s. do i get free shipping if i get it form airsoftgi? and did u say to stay away from the echo1 verson of the M16A4? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=1973 _________________
