So I thought this would be interesting...
What is your secondary and how have you used it effectively?
I ask the second question b/c I know many people who have a secondary that they never use. If you are not going to use it, to me it seems just like you'd have it for looks lol.

ummm....my secondary would be my fist, and i use it to render the enemy unconcious:cheers:

nah...seabass has been gracious to loan me a usp till i buy my 229. However, as with roamer, I havent really had a need for it since i have a cqc friendly gun.

i think the sniper is the role that would use a secondary if someone gets close. other than that....looks are nice:)

i use KSC M9 (pics are in the pics section). its been really useful to me as it is my only weapon for CQB style engagements. and we just got a semi new field up here in C-Bus that is an indoor outdoor field(conquest in sunbery). this field is an ever changing field where ive been shooting people at 100ft one moment and in 7 mins i was stacking up to clear the first entrance of a factory. plus ive had to use it as a primary for the last hour of the outside game(got 1 kill with it and made people duck, then got lit up by a guy i didnt see). so ye most people dont use their gas guns but ive seen some desperate situations where people have used them. and ive seen some of those desperate situations turned into massive wins on the part of the people who are using a GBB.

I also use a KSC M9 (you can see it in the pic section, I painted it Smile ). Last year at Blind Fury I ran out of mags for my G36c in the middle of a firefight and had to whip out the pistol. I actually did manage to get a kill with it, but that is really one of the only times I HAD to pull it out. Since I did order a JG Bar, I have a feeling I will use it a little more in the near future.

Well my current one is a G23f. And once the weather warms up a bit it will be used quite often. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this gun It is a full automatic compact glock think g19 but with over 20 rounds a second!!! =-)

I also have a Kwa G19 that is semi automatic and a WE 1911 5.1 that is freaking nuts and I'm afraid to play with it in fear of scratching the master piece.

I use my WE hi-capa 5.1 "Black Dragon" with the extended 7" barrel. As stated by Seabass, the thing's a hand-cannon at just over 11" long. How have I used it effectively? Well I actually haven't had the chance to use it yet, but it's very accurate and has great range to it. I'm sure it'll work well in the field. However, I don't plan on using it much (as I've never used a secondary that often). But if I throw the thing in a leg holster and secure it in place, I'll forget it's even there within a few minutes of holstering it. If my secondary were something like a shotgun, for as little as I use one, I just simply wouldn't take it with me. With my primary, BBs, batteries, food, water, my ghillie, etc. that I already take onto the field, I wouldn't want to get weighed down by a gun that I most likely won't even use. But again, that's just me, and I don't use secondaries very often.

And that's no offense against your shotgun secondary. I love that gun. Tokyo Marui makes some fine shotguns.

Major burn!!! Very Happy j/k

I think if you have a gun that is shooting over 400 fps you should probably carry some kind of a secondary for close range. Since the state of Ohio has certain guidelines for engagement rules, it is necessary at times to pull out a sidearm and not injure players at point blank. For instance, once I get my JG Bar shooting over 500fps... and yes, it will shoot over 500fps when I am finished Smile , I will have to use a secondary fairly often I would imagine. When I use my AEG's that are shooting just under 400fps I hardly ever even think about pulling a secondary... I will just put a new mag in or fill a mag and put it in the replica.
Also, if you play medic there may be times where you have to go help other players that are out. Chances are you will have to be a little faster and a lot more manuverable to not get hit by the enemy team. Because of this you may want to carry a sidearm so you can hand off your primary to one of your squad members and use your secondary so you dont have such a large bulky primary that weighs you down that much more than you already are.

So I would say it really just depends on your primary's fps and your role.

well, I am really shocked we would use this as an opportunity to trash the spas 12.... even after its new paint job... shocked

But, I should say if I can use it effectively it will be a great asset for CQC seeing how it shoots three BB's at once. BUT if I were by myself against some AEG's with it, I doubt I would stand a chance. I really just got it to add something to the team as a whole. W/out the support from friendly fire, the opposing team could simply count my shots and charge me when they have heard 10 in a row.
Time will tell

I shot Stormtrupr with my old Y&P MK23 SOCOM when he first got his CA Mp5... that was pretty funny. It was probably about a 30-40yd shot, so pretty accurate I must say. Very Happy Now, that Storm has played a good bit, I doubt I would want to try this again... I think he would light me up like a Christmas tree. Smile

Someone really needs to take away Roamer's choice of font colors Surprised
just kidding. Man, I think I always pick on Roamer...sorry buddy. I wasn't knockin' on your spas 12 either. I love the gun, and it's extremely accurate/effective. I was just saying for as little as I use a sidearm it'd be a waste for me to carry such a large gun.

I have yet to make a single kill with my sidearm Sad Hopefully here soon I can whip out the Black Dragon for some carnage at an event Smile

The largest I would go for myself would be either an MP7 or an MP5k... reason being that at close range they will be plenty accurate and will have a great rate of fire. At anything over 100 feet (or your engagement limit with an upgraded replica) use your primary and do some damage. Very Happy

Dont worry Admin, you will get a kill someday... someday... j/k Smile

yeah, I keep trying to get a buddy of mine to get an MP7... the ROF is killer and you really don't need accuracy when your CQC.
I think he is actually going to get an ECHO 1 MP5 (some shorter version). This seems like another primary to me, but at the same time it would be sweet if to take it and make it as fast as possible with little to no regard about accuracy... it could just prove to be pretty effeective. One could simply switch to it as soon as an enemy got w/in a certain distance... that'd scare the crap out of me lol

The only reason i would be hesitant in buying an MP7 is the fact that it uses different batteries and to my knowledge you can only get them in 7.2 volt, so that kind of restricts you on ROF.

Here is the MP5 he is probably looking at: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=2364
As you can see it is quite compact without a stock on it and as you may have noticed the barrel is also shortened... this is probably what I would get if I wanted a short CQC \ Secondary when using a bolt action. It looks really cool too. Very Happy

That is one of the choices I was looking at Seabass, but I like the looks of the following:

That would be just as good. Very Happy

If it were me I would probably take off the stock to keep it small though... especially since it would be my secondary. Smile

I would love to get an MP5k sometime... might be my next purchase, who knows? Very Happy
