Upgrades for Well L96

hi i am completely new to airsoft and am getting an L96, i was considering getting some upgrades with it,
so i was just wondering if there is anthing i should know first?
also i was looking at a - 'Element' 170% - 210% Power Spring for AEG, does anyone know if this will work and if so
what it will do to the fps?

One thing that Should really help. Is a tight bore barrel, i believe they make those for the L96's.

1. I wouldn't recommend getting a Well, they aren't the best quality.
2. An AEG spring will not work in a sniper.
3. If you upgrade a spring you must upgrade everything else or things will break.

Ok if you want to be a sniper get the BAR 10 (Link to Bar 10: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2790) It has great quality parts and is relatively cheap. It is also compatible with all Tokyo Marui parts. Don't be fooled buy its relatively low FPS, in 5 minites it could be shooting 500.

Now from my understanding you have never had a airsoft gun. Don't be fooled into buying a sniper because it has a high FPS. I would NOT recommend a sniper as a first gun. Get a AEG, I think you will be much happier.

Get an Echo 1 or a JG gun. They are pretty good quality, shoot hard and are cheap.

What ever you do don't buy the Super 9 sniper rifle, a Well or any Crossman gun.

if you are set on buying an L96 then i would recomend buying a barrel as the stock spring usually comes in the 450fps range for a Well sniper. but if you feel the need then you would have to go with either a VSR10 spring or a Maruzin ASP-2 spring: http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Category?

nice one lads for all the replies and advive, it is very much appriciated. was looking at the BAR 10 as advised, and the upgrades pages for it ere look great. so what kinda life expectancy would you expect to get out of the rifle after doing the mods? and last question, how much does the fps matter in regards to accuracy and wat is the fps after all the above mods? cheers again
