Donīt believe the Hype !!!!

The Twisted inner barrels have been around for a couple of years now, and the performance results are less than earth moving.

Some independent testers have reported up to a 30% loss in Range, Accuracy and FPS !!

The added resistance of the BB traveling down the inner barrel robs the gun of its energy and performance. Lets say that in the worst case you are experiencing a 30% loss in power and range, Your smooth barrel set up was with an M120, to replace the Loss you would have to Tune up to a M150 level or better, what does that mean for the average AS player, a complete new GB, Re-enforced everything, Better Motor, Larger Battery.

The idea at first glance seem great, but getting a BB to act and travel like a real Bullet is not going to happen, think about how a bullet travels down the barrel in comparison to our BBīs.
The Lands and Grooves of a real steel gun are designed to to give the bullet a horizontal drall ( spin ), our hop-ups do it vertical( never mind Boat, Dove Tailed, Half/Full metal Jacket ). The BAX Hop-Up set up from Swiss Arms attempted to do the same thing, but the system was so hard to adjust and set up, most players have given up on this type of Hop-Up unit.

For the Rifling to work effectively in AS guns, the BBīs would have to be designed like Diablo pellets.

Also wouldn't the twisted barrel cancel out the twist the Hop-Up put on it. Because the BB can't spin vertical and in spiraling motion at the same time?

say that you were shooting at the m150 level, and you could go up to an m190, would the twist give you better accuracy and the spring replace to loss of power.

this is the case for sniper 004.

TK was quoted saying that twist barrels are designed for the 1 joule level(300ish FPS), anything above that level would decrease the performance of the gun. I'll see if I can find the link.

I think I remember it from another site ( AA ), but the point of it was that to have a gun shooting at the 330FPS level you had to provide a spring that was more powerful than an M100, kind of defeats the purpose, donīt it.
