Ive also heard horror stories about them. Two of my friends even did which include waiting 2 months for a gun and canceling an order that was "Out of stock" and having it shipped already.

Not to mention airsplat also has false information on the guns they sell. Like saying a sniper has 500 FPS when it really only has about 400-420 FPS.

Okay, I've recently calculated my earnings for my birthday coming up and the fact I'm selling my old electric to a friend, and I've come to a total of $225.

On my list of items that I need help on:
1. An AEG, possibly full metal. (One that has a high cap mag and a speed loader, I'm gonna be leaching off friends xDD) I found this package deal on evike: http://www.airsoftpost.com/echo-special-custom-summer-super-package-deal-p-28042.html
2. Apparel (Possibly something that fits a big grass field)http://www.airsoftallies.com/post.forum?mode=editpost&p=19193

That is a nice set up and a good starter gun, for that money I donīt think you could go wrong.

I see, but the AK comes with two 600 hi-caps, PLUS a red dot, PLUS it's full metal like the M16. I like the idea of being all realistic and having to like reload after a couple of seconds like a real magazine, but I think it'd be too much of a hassle then just having two hi-caps on one magazine clamp.

If you are just getting into the sport, that means you obviously need gear as well as a gun. Here is what I would consider before buying anything...

* Buy an AEG to get into sport to get a feel for it before sprouting into other roles.
1) Weight (a 12 lb gun gets heavy after 4 hours)
2) Size (if you are 4 ft tall you wont want a 6 ft sniper rifle)
3) Expense (no explanation required)
4) Mag size (over looked a lot... the smaller the mag the smaller the rig needed to carry crap)
5) Battery (while alot of people talk about getting large batteries... I have yet to run out of a 9.6v mini at an 8 hr event)
6) Gear (the lighter the load out the better)

Here is what I would start with if I were on a budget:

Guns:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=2299
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=1974
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=3141
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_163&products_id=1972

Gear:

Both of these
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_177&products_id=389
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_101_296&products_id=1148
-OR-
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_173&products_id=1019
For $45 this is probably the better buy since it comes with the belt listed above.

If you were to get an M4, you can fit 8 mags in a dual AK pouch like the one listed above... so it almost eliminates the need for an entire vest, which restricts movement and feel.

Mags run in different prices, but you want midcap mags that aren't too expensive, reason being most events don't allow hi caps to be used. Mag / Star brands are normally pretty good for the money. M4 and MP5 mags may be the cheapest, but you can get away with just having (3) 140rd mags (easy to find in AK mag or G36) without much of a problem.

Agree with Seabass all the guns he listed ive heard good things about except the AK-101 which ive heard nothing about but if its like there MP5 its good. Echo 1s MP5 is very good for the price and it out performs there M4 and G36c (see video below)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PvEHbGus5Q&feature=channel_page

Also mags for the MP5 are cheap...

I saw a review of the AK in Airsoft magazine and they loved it... it also had extremely impressive accuracy and I think it chronoed in stock at 398 fps, which is just about perfect. Very Happy

Out of the guns I put that would probably be the one I would buy, however if I were trying to stay cheap it would be the mp5 or m4 depending on which I liked the looks of better.

HHmmm... that is a bit of an issue for you. Very Happy

Even though, I don't really think this is the best store... they probably ship to Canada. www.evike.com They also have just about everything you can imagine.

Stanton... there are a lot of options, but first stop looking at Airsplat and go to the following sites instead:
www.airsoftgi.com
www.airsoftatlanta.com
www.precisionairsoft.net
www.airsoftsmith.com
www.airsoftarms.com

Those are much better sites and they also offer a lot of products.

Airsoft Atlanta also has really cheap prices for great guns, you just need to get some research on the gun first.
