PostSubject: Batteries   Batteries Icon_minitimeMon May 11, 2009 6:02 pm

Sorry for sort of asking the same question twice, but I really want to ask a pro.

Can I get a battery with higher voltage for my Echo 1 Ak74? Some people say it will increase the RPM, but others say it will burn out my moter.

PLease help,

Utz

What battery are you running in the gun now? And I'm assuming its stock, but if not what upgrades have you dropped in it? You should be fine with a 9.6V battery, but if you go any higher than that expect to pay a pretty penny to get reliability...

I have an 8.4V 1100mAH stick battery. This is the battery that came with the gun. Do u think I could get a 9.6V that is the same size as the 8.4V stick?

thanks

A 9.6v will be fine in a stock E1. It will break nylon bushings before it strips gears or burns out your motor. I am running a stock motor in my gun with a 9.6v.

A larger Battery will increase your ROF, burning out the motor is relative,

If you are doing long Ratta Tat Tats, with an 8,4V you are sending a less number of BB´s down Range, by increasing the Battery size you will send more BB´s Down Range in a shorter amount of time, the motor works faster.

It is an improvement in Performance, but with every Improvement made on an AS Gun, the wear and tear is also increased, regardless if it is an improvement of FPS or ROF.

You can safely run your gun on an 9,6, like L_W stated, the bushings will give out before the Motor does.

so wait... r u saying that if you upgrade the battery from a 8.4 to a 9.6 then the fps will go up? cause my gun already has a beastly rof and i am thinking of doing that (exchanging my stock 8.4 to a 9.6)
