8.4 V battery charging time

how long do you have to charge a 8.4 V battery???? HELP!!! i don''t want to over charge it, AND YES i have checked the gun's instructions and it doesnt say.

dude... it is standard... if this is your first time charging it then you charge it for 6 hours, after that then the max u should charge it is for 4 hrs... but it won't really hurt it that badly if you over charge it a little bit. happy hunting!

you do know this is in the ASK A PRO section. i need info that the person isn''t just using as an example. in other words, i need an aproxamate time period.

Okay lets start with questions


A: Look on your charger, and somewhere it should say how much mAh it charges an hour. Like, it'll say stuff like

300 mAh

tell us what it says usually its 300.

now look on your battery, and tell us is it mini or large? then tell us how much mah it holds and we can answer it.

The Mah on your Charger is how many MaH it loads in an Hour,

50, 100, 500, 1000, and so on

The Mah on your Battery is the Capacity, 9,6V 4500 MaH,

if you are using a Simple wall Charger with a 300MaH capacity, you just need to do the math,

4500 Divided by 300. Charging Time of 15 Hours.

i did that and coame up with 2.4 hours for my 8.4v that isn''t right!?

Like theonenamedMike said, to answer the question correctly, Charger Mah, Battery size + Mah is needed to answer the question.

Charger: Output: 8.4V ---- 450mA

also if i undercharged it could that lock up my gearbox?

Thats about two hours and dare I say, 14 minutes?
try that, but know this, if it overheats, take it out.
Im not sure about undercharging it, but just don't do in, just in case

well echo 1 sent me a email saying 2.4 hours but yet my thompson's 8.4v takes 4 hours?

Charger 250 MAH

then that should be right, because if you do the math

1100/250

1100 - 250 = 850 1 hour

850 - 250 = 600 2 hours

600 - 250 = 350 3 hours

350 - 250 = 100 4 hours

100/250
1000/250 = 04.

Total time, 4 hours, 4 minutes.

In my opinion, this is being over complicated. All you need to do is get a smart charger. It will stop charging when the battery is full. Problem solved.
