Hey guys, just got my new Eagle Industries Rhodesian Recon Vest(RRV or RRS-V). So I thought I would throw some pics up while I had the chance too. Nothing to fancy, I am not a great photographer either so the lighting and angles suck..... Live with it Very Happy. My brother has taken a few photography classes so maybe he can help me when he gets home. The vest is nowhere near completed, I still need allot of pouches, a backplate and a Modular Assualt Pack(MAP) in CB. Enough talk, how about some pics!

Basic shot of whole vest(thats a pillow in it to keep stability): Eagle Industreis RRS-V Img_1110

Side shot showing Medical Pouch CB(Pantac): Eagle Industreis RRS-V Img_1117

Side showing medium utility pouch OD(Condor), sorry for the darkness: Eagle Industreis RRS-V Img_1116

Now onto the gear porn!

Thats all I can get up for now.... I also got some pics of the MTC that I'm going to put up in a little. This will happen in the MTC review thread of coarse Smile.

Kitlist:
EI RRS-V in Coyote Brown(CB).
Pantac Medical Pouch-CB
Condor 8rnd shotty pouch-Olive Drab(OD)
Condor large radio pouch-OD (holding mags)
Condor double-double M4 mag pouch-OD
Condor medium utility pouch-OD
Condor double 9mm pouch-OD(on utility pouch)

Thats all for now, you can see my Ranger Green MAP in the background of some of the pics. Going to grab a crap ton more pouches in Coyote Brown and put together a Marine Force Recon kit, hopefully Smile.

Updated pics, added pistol pouches, changed mag holder to M4 2x3, closed the bib, and moved stuff around.

Sorry for the crap pics, they were taken quickly for someone in AO chat....

Where did you buy these from? And excuse the dumb question, but that's MOLLE, isn't it?? I am seriously considering buying one before my next event.

1: I got mine from Triadtactical.com. I originally ordered a ranger Green one but they had site problems and were actually out of stock. Talked to the guy on the phone, and was immediately sent a CB one instead. Just great customer service.

here is a link to the vest page, look for the Rhodesian Recon Vests. There should be a few slots that have different colors, only the khaki(tan) one has a pic though.

http://triadtactical.com/page/146t7/Online_Shopping.html

OPtactical also has them in stock, they are also great guys!

http://www.optactical.com/eainmostrhre.html

They have a better pic of the back, you have to cross the straps. The pic with the straight straps has a converter on it, and you need to buy the converter(its cheap). Nevermind about the converter.... They give you the kit inside your vest.... You unbuckle the bib(top MOLLE space inbetween the straps) and open a velcro past under it... Thats the inside of the vest, where you will find all the parts needed to attach a backplate and convert to an H-Harness.

Here is the Pantac version, its a bit more affordable and really nice as well. Honestly I only went with EI for two reasons, 1 was it has a much higher re-sale value than the Pantac one, and 2 is because I thought I should treat myself after playing competitive(not backyard) airsoft for 4 years(in august).

OD: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_77&products_id=1054
Tan: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_77&products_id=961

2: yes that is MOLLE. The loops are a bit more snug than most vests, but that way they wont come out during a game!

Many of those guys from southern michigan and ohio love there tan don't they. See up here, those colors just don't work. I am considering switching to multicam though, that works in many environments.

Its actually Coyote Brown, for some reason the pics make it look allot more tan than it is. tan actually blends in really well in the fall/late winter down here. CB works the best during those seasons though.

I got it for the USMC kit/it works well with both Tan and Green uniforms... I was sooo close to grabbing a Multicam one, but decided against it... The origional one that I ordered is a green grey, I'm going to grab either a RG Pantac or RG EI because I fell in love with them...

Yea, I am thinking about getting some desert marpat, or multicam for games down state now that i have my license. The only problem is that all my gear is od, but I think that multicam and od will look fine together. Is there alot of camo restrictions and rules for large games there.

DJ yes, but its all dependent on your BDU's... Like I can wear a Tan flight suit and my CB RRV with OD pouches just fine. Even though OD pouches are green. My friend wears a Pantac Tan Plate Carrier and Woodland BDU's when he plays, hes still on the woodland side though. Its always been the Base BDU determines what side you are on.... This goes for almost all games in ohio, unless there are not enough people with Tan or OD BDU's; then we move to red/blue arm bands.

Heres a good pic of MC with OD gear: http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/album.php?albumid=277&pictureid=2554 I like it but sometimes it can be hard to tell who is who, especially with MC. Just watch yourself out there, and be prepared for a little friendly fire, not allot but a little.

aveenvp, thanks its really comfy too!

Nice Rig Sticks, nice to see somebody who hasnīt gone crazy with putting pouches everywhere possible. Smart, nothing funnier than watching the camouflaged Michilin man on steroids fighting with his/her own set-up.

lol yeah I have seen the Michelin man over here in Ohio several times. Laughing The reason that I went with the RRV over some others was the fact that it is actually a chest rig, but it offers the most MOLLE space of a rig that I have seen yet! I have a few more pouches to buy though, dump, replacing mag pouches, canteen pouch, and a different radio pouch(which should fit my radio better), all in Cb this time though. I'm also going to grab a MAP(the backpack in the background), in CB, then I will be done Very Happy. Broke but done. Laughing

Thanks,

Just have to make the time, sometimes ( does that make sense ?? )

BTT, like I said Real Nice Rig, am looking forward to seeing the end product,

Was wondering, how well does it hang during Long Events ( 24 Hrs or More ), some rigs tend to start cutting into the shoulders, but yours looks like the straps are wide enough and padded to prevent this.

if your screwing off in the Foreign legion they make you march with a backpack full of rocks and straps make of fishing line.

Slob, I haven't taken her to any 12+ hour events yet. I hope to soon though, but the straps a really nice and I doubt you wold have the problem of them cutting in. It has plenty of padding in the straps and you can change the format of the straps from an X style to an H style pretty easily. So even if you did run into that problem you could just change the strap style! It feels great when you play, I can even hook my rifle up to it on a caribener with little discomfort. I changes out the big 2x3 pouch because it was making it really hard to crawl, so I now have a 2x2 and a double 40mm grenade pouch holding my mags, and I still have room if I want to add stuff. Its by far the best chest rig I have ever tried on. Going to a smaller MilSim-ish game next weekend so I'll get some pics of me with it on/in use.
