MOLLE vs ALICE

why do you prefer them? please don't say "i prefer MOLLE because it's newer"

MOLLE because its easyier to find. and comes in every color of the rainbow

haha, wearing pink IBAs on the field. at this point, though, i'm liking ALICE more. it's a helluva lot cheaper, and i've read some BAD field reports about MOLLE.

what are your sources on bad molle? and i have never owned molle but i own ALICE....

that's the first one i could find, and it really isn't that good a source. give me a little time, and i can find them again.

i perfer molle just cause its easy to get and its completely customiazible.

Good MOLLE, not the clone stuff, will hold up forever. Even if it breaks you can usually send it back too a manufacturer and get it repaired/new product. I know that Eagle Industries, and Blackhawk(the 2 top MOLLE manufacturers) both do this. I'm pretty sure TT does this also, but don't quote me on this.

Alice is really cool for making kits, but unless you use hicaps I can't really see how you would fit all of you gear on just a belt kit. Then again I don't use Hi-Caps and I usually play in MilSim or MilSim oriented games(aka no going back too the cars for anything). So I need more room for random stuff.

Therefor my vote goes too MOLLE, I love her... ugh I mean it!!!!

ok, im gonna sound like a total noob because i am but, what are they/whats the difference?

ALICE is an older system, invented in the late 60s for the troops in Vietnam. it consists of suspenders and a belt rig with many different pouches to choose from. MOLLE is a newer system invented in the mid 90s that consists of bands of fabric that pouches can be put on.

My vote went to molle, but now I am considering an alice set up. First, it is less expensive, and it will be much lighter, plus way more flexible.

one of the other reasons i like it! it's a helluva lot easier to maneuver in than a plate carrier. (yes, i have worn a plate carrier)

same here, i personally will never own anything besides alice, or chest rigs since i have been reading up on chest rigs and vest. I like my flexibility and maneuverability.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I wanted to kinda review my ALICE rig a little bit.

I now believe ALICE and MOLLE to be equal. Not gonna lie, the versatility of MOLLE is pretty sexy, but ALICE is very cheap and very easy to find, not to mention pretty comfortable.

On my ALICE rig, I have a Universal Small Arms mag pouch on my left front, right after where one of the suspenders connects. After that, I have a canteen on my left hip and slightly forward. In the back, I have a buttpack which is VERY helpful for carrying all my crap. Then I have a second canteen on my right hip a little back. I wear my rig with Y suspenders. The reason I have my left canteen slightly forward is because I drink from that one the most. When that canteen is empty, I can leave it in the ready room and use the canteen cover or pouch or whatever the "Watch your language" you want to call it for a dump pouch. In my butt pack, I keep extra bbs, a feeder bottle, and sometimes a stick of jerky or another extra mag (still need another mag pouch). My buttpack also has a sort of handle thing sewn on, which is used when I am in a stack clearing/entering a room. The person behind me holds onto the handle thing. This is a little awkward, but you get over it. Overall, I do like my ALICE rig. I find it an excellent crap-carrying system. Cadet Private Jarhead999 76 65 approved!
