Cool pictures. I love the card on the helmet. But we didn't use camo in 'Nam. We just wore OD. Still nice pics though. And whats the written on the other side of the helmet?

These pictures remind me of a book called Fallen Angles. You should read it if you haven't already. (I warn you though, its a VERY mature book.)

Excuse the necro-post, but Rusty, go here to get any type of gear you may need. I also know of a few places who make repro 3rd Pattern Poplin blouses and Mitchell Covers for very cheap. The Mitchells were actual issue.

And what does your helmet say? I love helmet graffiti!

Excuse my necro post as well but I LOVE Fallen Angels. It's just....unexplainably amazing. Sunrise Over Fallujah is really good too. I've been meaning to read that a second time but I lost the bugger

And back to the topic, those pics are alright, though a bit unrealistic. The helmet's good although as mentioned above; G.I.'s just wore olive drab BDUs and they carried good ol' .45 M1911A1's instead of M9's.

They did not BDUs, my friend. They wore what was called the Poplin Blouse. Depending on the year, they would be issued either a 1st Pattern, 2nd Pattern, or 3rd Pattern Poplin blouse, but 3rd Patterns were the most often seen. In 1969, ERDL was introduced, which is the father of woodland.
