Subject: magazine messed up Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:18 am
Ok so for christmas i got a new spare magazine for my A&K AR-25. The mag brand is A&K and when i put it in the gun it simply skides right out. So the mag release is not locking in and thus it slides out. This doesnt happen to the mag that came with it and i noticed the small hole the mag release locks into is alittle shorter. So any suggestions on how to fix it?

Try putting a roll of electric tape on the magazine, 1 or 2 strips should do it.

It sounds to me like the indent where the mag release goes is not big enough for it to lock. I don't think electrical tape will fix this one. Try getting like a metal pokey thingy like they pick your teeth with at the dentist and attempt to make the hole bigger.

Jarhead, if it works for hte other mag, its not a mag release problem. It might be the "fatness" of the magazine isn't chucky enough. Just try electric tape, see if that works...

No, I'm saying the new magazine's slot where the mag release goes is not as big as the other one
