Mainly when I can't find ammo... Very Happy

heh don't think I will ever bowhunt...I don't have the skill for it and im one of those weirdos who loves animals and still hunts..so i like the garuenteed clean kill of a rifle...just don't trust mmyself with a bow.

I don't know if this is good or not..i always take head shots when hunting large game..and ive never missed so thats somthing i supose...just satisfying to see the kill drop instantly with no pain (since the brain has no pain receptors)

iono what do you guys think of aiming for the dead when hunting?

I also love animals, and have won multiple awards for marksmanship (shotgun and rifle- not yet bow), and I never aim for the head (except for turkeys). I know exactly where the heart is, so I can guarantee a clean kill with a shot there. When they run after that, they're already dead. their muscles are still just reacting (my hunting guide told me that, and seems true enough), I feel confident with taking a head shot and killing it, I just go for the traditional heart shot that I was taught as a young hunter.

yeah i was also tought the heart shot..my dad hates it when I go for the head, but my reasoning is if smthing goes wrong and I screw up somehow I miss instead of getting a gutshot.
