Thank you, ATF, for being a bunch of nimrods... Today, I drove through the South Valley, a part of Albuquerque rife with gang wars and shootings. I saw bloodstains on walls, dammit! ATF should be heading down there rather than screwing around with airsoft replicas. All this bullshit is really starting to piss me off.

And here is why I say that,

Essentially the ATF is doing it's job. It is trying to push legislation to regulate toys that should only be in the hands of the responsible user. However the way they are going about doing it, getting on left-wing channels and preaching that AirSoft replicas can be converted to fire real ammunition is to the root the definition of propaganda. They want to spread the paranoia as Slob poked fun at to all of the sheeples of our society so not only is the ATF writing to congressmen, but the general public.

Even the ATF has been using terms like "War", object of the game is to "kill"...etc. All of the usual terms pertaining to the Plastic Death Pandemic. And all in front of some camera or tape recorder.

The paintball community has gone from using the term gun completely and now they call their equipment "Markers." Whereas AirSoft we still refer to them as Gun, Rifle, Pistol, SMG, Grenade Launcher...the list goes on. There is no way to avoid it sadly. People are looking for the 1:1 real life replica down to the trademarks. It is what makes our sport so unique because we can RolePlay Military Simulations.

Law enforcement needs to stick to enforcing laws and not create paranoia to legislate against our already scorned sport.

Poking fun at the paranoia was wrong, and I appoligize, this is a serious issue, and sadly you are just starting to experiance it, it is going to get worse.
We here are fighting a battle on all fronts to keep our Hobby/Sport alive here.

Let me tell you a true story..........

In the not too distant past, a young man here went postal and decided that he was going to correct all the wrongs that were ever done to him, how did he do this you ask ? Well here it is in a nutshell, he took Dad´s 9mm, loaded up for bear and went to school, needless to say the young man was an excellent shot and most of his vitims died from just one shot, either to the head or heart, the police were alerted and they rolled in in force, he actualy shot his way out, took an innocent hostage and led the law on a good chase, after crashing the car, the gunman tried to flee on foot, the whole time keeping the police at bay with well placed accurate fire, the police managed to block him in, in a parking lot and wounded him in the leg, appartently this young man had already made up his mind that he was never going to serve a day in jail, so with a self administered amount of lead poisoning, the whole incident came to a tragic end.

Now the Panic Makers right away jumped on the Fact that he was an avid Ego-Shooter Player, and that was why he did what he did, then the Paranoid Party joined in and blamed it all on the fact that he was part of the local shooting range team ( with his Father ) and they were to blame, then the No-It-All-and-You-Don´t Scare Crew got ahold of a picture of his room, showing the computer where he spent all his time playing Ego-Shooters, Next to his Trophy´s for shooting, under the 6 AirSoft Replicas hanging on the wall, take one guess who got the blame, You got it, AirSoft !!

So right away the Train for Banning Airsoft left the station and went directly to the Government with no stops along the way, the saving grace happened to be a Grean Peace member sitting is Government that brought everybody back to reality, The Computer Games did not force this young man to kill anybody, His training at the shooting range did not force him to go on a killing spree, and if he had used an Airsoft Replica, there would be no dead, just alot of bruises, and the people that he shot probably would have beat the crap out of him.

Needless to say, if it had not been for 1 cool head, it could have gone the other way.

Unannounced home inspections,
refusal of ownsership in housholds that have teens or young adults,
Forces storage of all firearms either by the Police of local Shooting Range/Club,
Ban on all Ego Shooter games, Counter Strike, Halo and so on....
The coplete Ban of AS inside the Boarders of the BRD,
Banning of the sale and ownership of AS replicas to anyone under the age of 18,
Rasing the age for AS purchase to 21,

Registration of all AS Replicas with the local Police Station,
Weapon Ownership and registration cards for AS Owners/Players,

All of these proposals are comming from the Panic Spreaders, and I´m positive some of them will get passed as Laws.
The strangest part is how fast they all forgot that the previous Amok incident, the gunman bought all the parts he needed to make his guns from the imternet, completly circumventing all the laws regarding firearms, you can own all the parts to build an MG42, just don´t put them together.
