I know what you mean. It's sad (and hypocritical), but I do secretly want there to be a war.
I think it would boost our economy and create that warm fuzzy nationalistic fervor that we all felt after 9/11.

the only way it would boost our economy was if the whole country put a fervour into the war machine that comes from being attacked and a stand up war with actual battle lines. lol

but this is a powder keg. The koreans have always been fighting skirmishes, especially navally, THIS however is the first time that civilians have been harmed and killed. Prior it was only military personnel.

...china is communist but has a socialist/capitalist economic standpoint lol I think its funny that if the US gets involved with a conflict china most likely wont help out north korea. Just cuz the US is a better business partner and our economies are intertwined at this point

I have to agree with that last statement, looking at Chinas actions the past decade or two I think it safe to say that they want world approval, and that they even look at the US as a Rival to try and match in terms of economic and world power. If it did come to war, I think China would back up the US before North Korea if only for the point that we make better friends than NK.

We do have to consider though that China may not like American soldiers so close to their border, which was a very large issue during our first excursion to North Korea.

If it came to it, I think the US would win easily as long as the politicians let us fight an actual war. Let the politicians lose and the whole thing will turn into a . . . mess (PM me your guess on what word I was really thinking of lol).

S. Korea: Mommy, daddy (United States)! North Korea hit me!!!
N. Korea: Nuh-uh! South Korea hit me first!
S. Korea: No, North was being mean to me, he was calling me names!
N. Korea: But South was being a stooopid dummy! He deserved it.
United States: North Korea, go to your room for a time out!
N.K.: No, I don't wanna! If I have to go to my room, then I'll SCREAM! Then China will come and help me!

And there you have it folks; how the second Korean War might start...pitiful.

By the way, the first explosion (in Durkee's video) looked more like a roadside bomb rather than an artillery round. Artillery has more of a upward explosion, that one seemed to go in all directions, and it was pretty small.
Does anyone know what model howitzers North/South Korea's military uses? I imagine the South uses our models but I'm not sure what they use in the North.

Simple, we send NN2H (he's just a BA and forums sexiest member) to N.Korea were he will use some crazy unknown fighting style kill mr. wanna be commie. Then the U.S. can make a giant box (cure unemployment) we send it over with CIA helicopters that look like pizza heli's and drop it on the country.

Remove after 3 months and presto whoever survived can lead the new korea

Kim Jong-il would use his midget skills to hide in a ditch somewhere and avoid said giant pizza box. It's a fact.
Believe me, the military has been simulating attacks on North Korea for a while now...your idea has come up a few times.

My sgt from school said this may be the job security all of us wanna be cadets have been waiting for. I'm excited! Then again looking back this has happened like 8 times in the last decade with no results from the US.

but the big factor that brings this out above the rest is civilian casualties in the last attack.

PS AllTheGoodNamesWereTaken the Korean war hasn't officially ended yet. Which is why only naval attacks are happening. If NK does anything toward the N S border the Cease fire would not be in effect for realz

icwutudidthar.

But yeah, some dumbass fat kid from Michigan in a class today was like, "I heard they took all the troops from eye-rack and aff-ga-nuh-stand and put them in South Korea and now we're in a war with South Korea, I'm totally gonna be a Marine sniper when I grow up so I can go shoot some Koreans."

I said "No retard, that never happened. And North Korea is the communist side, we want to help the South. We aren't even doing anything in Korea yet. Oh and if you even go through with becoming a Marine, have fun crying yourself to sleep every day away from your Xbox." It was the class with the cool ex-USMC teacher so he chuckled a little bit Very Happy

Lololol, Lawdy you should see the amount of jack-assery that goes on on my campus! There's a ton of idiots who come back from Army basic training, "yeah, I just got done with basic, I'm such a bad-ass." When in truth, I uncovered that almost all of them dropped out...all of them were avid Call of Duty players...

Maybe they have good grammar? The entire time you've been here I can barely understand what you type. lol

But yes, people are ignorant, I never try to open my mouth without knowing I have stuff to back it up.

Creed you should be in my social studies class, it is very sad. So during our debates I do very well. People these days do not know how to back up what they are saying with facts.

Most likely, pretty soon this whole thing will blow over.

Hahaha N. Koreas statement "We are not afraid to go to war"
Shut up North Korea. The last thing YOU want is a war. I say we just attack them. They'd get slaughtered in only a few weeks.
Although it raises the question: Will North Korea decide to use Nuclear war heads? Its not like they have anything to lose at that point... hmm.
