question about molle/belt

I have a hard time deciding........

could in theory you use a belt in replacement for a MOLLE/PALS system?
reason being, I am cheap, and I only need two pouches(two small pouches)

yes it could, but the pouches will move around.... a lot!

I tried it once... don't.

Get a MOLLE Battle Belt and get suspenders. Then your pouches won't move, and you can carry more pouches if you decide to.

Or go with good 'Ol Alice...can link you up with an old fashioned M56 pistol belt and some pouches. All are extremely cheap.

All very cheap, all do the job great. Get one like the French belt on the first page, that's what you need.
