Seemed like a lot of unnecessary movements to make it look faster

The only extra movement was the canting of the rifle at the very beginning.
That was just to check the chamber to make sure the weapon is clear and there isn't a stovepipe. It's always good to do that on closed-bolt weapons.

The actual reload from hand off to charged weapon was about a second. That's about the same as the fastest practical AR reload I've seen.

That's the only flaw on the AK series...closed bolt. Having to rack that bolt after each change is killer.

you have to pull back the charging handle on the m16 too. Unless there is still a round in the chamber...

i agree with drummerz it was just unnecessary movement, reloading that fast isn't that hard for anyone who's practiced. and it looks like it was sped up. or is that just me? lol

*cough* hence "RE-loading"...as in, running a stack through, clearing the weapon, ejecting dry magazine, inserting a stacked mag, and sending lead.
Sure you charge your first mag, but the bolt sticks on the last round...so all you gotta do is hit the catch and you're back on the trigger. AK's don't have that luxury.

Lol was definitely not sped up in any way haha. His movements were just fluent; he's probably made it muscle memory by now.
Fairly certain reloading that fast is hard, even for those who practice. I do dry drills with mah 1911 on an almost daily basis and I haven't gotten that kind of agility yet.

Went over the "unnecessary movement" already but if by unnecessary movement you're referring to him crouching during the exercise, keep in mind that it is good practice to maintain movement within three dimensions at all time to make yourself less of a target. The Russians coined the art of fluid combat, where you essentially dance within lateral/horizontal space with your body constantly distorting the enemy's perceived target.

Well before and after he reloads he turns the weapon sideways. This looks like he's checking the bolt, but at that speed I don\'t really think you'd be able to see anything, which in my mind means its wasted time on movement that has no actual relivance....

Agreed. He probably just looked at the list of procedures for reloading and then tried to see how fast he could do them all.

You could definitely see if the bolt was popped at that speed. Try it haha.
He's not losing any time by doing that maneuver...the motion adds momentum to his drop to the knee and is fluid since he's reaching for a new stack anyway.

I'd rather use the energy to check my bolt to make sure I don't have a hangup than running a full reload and having to rack the action a second time to clear it.

LOL, right at the beginning? Its a blur! Watch it closely. You can\'t see squat! Now if it was a stovepipe this would be obvious to the shooter. If you have a stovepipe your not going to think its out of ammo...

Bolt/function/action check...pshhhh, all same thing. I'm visually checking the bolt/action to ensure it is functioning order.
OBVIOUSLY I don't mean a bench function check hahaha. "WAIT LEMME TAKE APART MAH GUN FERST! TIME OUT!"

By function check he means checking the modes of fire and making sure all is working well. But you would only do that after assembling it or prior to an op. for the m16 it takes 3-6 seconds pending on how well you know the system. The ak i don\'t know, I've only just shot them lol
