Paint ????

Have any of you painted (camo of course) your rifle? I have a UTG L96 (love it), black with a AO 3-9x40 scope, also black. I'm considering painting it in a desert camo pattern. I have a ghillie cover for it, but I think I'd like the camo paint as well.

Any input here? Commentary, questions or editorials welcome.

You can put leaves on top of your gun and then spray paint it with different colors(camoflauge colors) thus giving the gun a camoflauge with leaf patterns on it.

Very nice! How did you paint it? Did you look at a picture to paint it?

no i just went random and placed paint on bulges/shapes that stuck out to blend them in, i did a g36 it came out nice like a wwII tiger tank tan (sand) with brown pattern

What stencils did you use? I'm looking at another material for my stencils..... Plasticard is a little hard to work with, after you cut the patterns out its great but until then it sucks.

If your painting your guns in a desert pattern use Tan Brown AND green. Spray your gun tan as a base then use green then finally the brown. If you can get a light brown and a dark brown that would be best. If you don't want to paint your gun every season get a clearcoat(Matte or normal) and spray 3+ coats of it after your done with the rifle. don't be afraid of creativity.

stencils?? none i tore tape in random shapes and paper

depends if you want a desert digital camo patteren then take some gragh paper and an exacto knife and cut out the boxs so it starts to look the pattern in witch you want then put it up agianst your gun and spray that spot and it comes out like the pattern

I have a few questions as well , I am going with pine leave colorings for my L-96 due to the surroundings here , and I am wondering what other colors and designs should I put with it .

is it a green area? if so use a base of od green grab the blue masking tape and tare it in random shapes and lines then paint the lines with sand color paint then get the tape and tare random size holes and shapes and put them on some of the bends and lines then paint that brown also you can tare paper and spray the raw shapec on areas
