| If you're looking for a new sniper rifle, you probably won't find an Echo 1 that suits your needs. Possibly the M14, but you still won't get the accuracy it takes to be an effective sniper rifle. I personally have the UTG L96 and the Classic Army SL8. Even the SL8, which I had custom upgraded to 400 fps, is not that great of a sniper rifle. Don't get me wrong, it's very accurate and a great gun, but I find myself being more of a Designated Marksman than a sniper with it. I think you'll especially do the same with an Echo 1 full-auto gun. So sure the gun'll be great, but if you're looking for a sniper rifle, I'd go with something else.
Here are my recommendations, in order: JG Bar-10 UTG L96 KJW m700
By the way, I finally recorded my groupings with my SL8 at various distances. I had my GF tape it so I'll edit it and get it up on Youtube soon, then post it on here for you all to see the results. Cenasbiggest, then you'll be able to see what I mean _________________ Never hesitate to PM me or one of my mods if you have any questions or issues! Team Juggernauts: Logan, Ohio

| Yeah the Bar 10 is great... and you can get it shooting pretty quick without spending any money. I would highly recommend one.
Since you only listed bolt actions, I kind of guess you dont want an Echo 1, but just in case... If you are looking at AEG's, I would stay away from the M14 if you want a "sniper" as it is hard to get higher FPS, atleast it was for my Echo 1 M14. _________________ Classic Army MG36 - 2500 rounds of pure fury. | As far as sniper's go, I have to be honest... I would stick to bolt action's. They may cost some money to get shooting faster, but with AEG's you are often limited to 450-500fps and bolt actions are limited at 600fps. So technically if you get a bolt action shooting 500fps+ you are going to be a more effective "sniper" in terms of range and accuracy. Also, I tried to build up a semi auto sniper and my goal was 450fps. Granted it was an Echo 1 M14, but it was unreliable and very hard to attain my goals. I had just about everything in the gearbox replaced, shimmed, Prometheus 650mm tightbore barrel, and it had a Systema Magnum motor installed. The sad thing was that it was suppose to be a sniper and my CA36 was more accurate and had about the same range when I was doen with the M14. Then after deciding the M14 was a dead end, I decided to purchase a JG Bar 10, and without spending more than $3.00 I have it shooting at 450fps and that is without a good tightbore... I am sure it will be close to 475-480fps once I put one in and since it is 100% VSR compatible, I can upgrade it like there is no tomorrow due to all the aftermarket parts for the VSR. Most likely I will get a nice piston, spring, and metal spring guide... this should allow me to go over 500fps pretty easy. My results with a bolt action (JG BAR 10) have been much more pleasant and honestly I have had some nice long kills with it (50+ yards). It is accurate, has more range, and it is WAY more reliable at this point. Once I push it from 450fps up to 550fps (my goal) it may not be quite as reliable, but it will be shooting about 100-200fps faster than most AEG's. Should give me a nice advantage... I just need to work on a good sidearm now (thinking Echo 1 MP5k).
That all being said, if you are new to the sport, I would look into just getting a basic AEG like an Echo 1. It will allow you to decide what type of player you are and chances are you will have more fun as you will probably get more kills with it.
Just my 2 cents. _________________ Classic Army MG36 - 2500 rounds of pure fury. Echo 1 Vector Arms AK - 400 FPS JG Bar 10 G-Spec - 520 FPS ICS M4 CQB - 325 FPS (Perfect for close encounters) |

| i started a topic on this subject. so i wouldent hijak another thread.
i would say if you are just starting sniping then go with a DM style AEG that way if you dont like it you can sell the AEG for more than you would an un upgraded bolt action(there are hundreds of Mp001's etc etc floating around on airsoft forums to be sold).
since your budget is in the 100-200 range i would recomend the DBoys M12 MoD1(i know it say MoD0 but its actually the MoD1) http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_211&products_id=3165
or the CYMA M14 (full internall compatibility with TM parts), all that needs replacing for an M120-130 spring is the spring guid and the shims
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_134&products_id=2910
really you should head to a store or ask other players to hold their guns at games and see what right for you. believe me it helps alot

| the UTG that Alabama sniper posted is an ok weapon but its a little loud compared to the other weapons. the worst part about it is the crack that it makes when it fires. the actual crack is louder than my old M4's crack. i would go with the BAR because of the 100% upgrade compatibility. the M324 is a good weapon but its a little loud.
