| If you only by a scope for the looks then don't use it. This is because if you want it for looks, that means that you really aren't playing in an environment in which you will need one, and they will only restrict your field of vision. | |

| If you are only going to be shooting targets at 30ft, then no its not needed. However when you start to shoot targets past 120ft, for spotting (the BB, not spotting for the sniper) purposes it is needed.
