| What you need to understand with round capacity on a sniper rifle; You won't be shooting a massive number of "bullets" at your enemy. As a sniper you will be taking deadly yet accurate shots, so range/accuracy is more important than round capacity, so from the two guns you have selected I suggest the KJW M700, and that is my personal choice for you. A particular type of rifle that I like is the TSD L96: http://www.pyramidairsoft.com/ProductDetails1.aspx?productID=1608&referer=530Although I think you'll be fine with the KJW M700 | |

| I see your point, but I play DM very often, and we play in cold weather a lot, so a gas rifle that can only hold 10 rounds may be at a disadvantage. any other opinions? | |

| Well, the TSD L96 should be a spring rifle (Which is what I use actually). I haven't upgraded it or anything yet, but a few modifications and a higher grade BB, maybe .28+ and I think you will have a good sniper rifle.
Plus because it is spring you won't have to worry about paying for expensive gases over and over again. I believe they quote that it holds 25 rounds, but it holds 23 actually. | |

| I have a TM G-Spec(Bar10 is a clone of the TM), I will say when I'm more mobile(like shadowing a squad or DMing), the 30 rounds per mag can go very quickly.
Honestly if you plan on DMing more but maybe transitioning to a Sniper, grab yourself a good looking DMR. If you plan on transitioning to a Sniper down the road, you still have a full blown Sniper rifle. Sometimes I really wish I was using my TM M4 when I snipe because there is always a need for a quick follow up shot.
I'm sure you will find some really good reviews/articles on different DMR's on this site if you look.

| sorry for double posting, but I actually am looking for more of a sniper rifle than a DM rifle.the JG bar 10 seems to be a good choice, but now you have me thinking. What other good rifles would be in my price range? any opinions? | |

| Well some good DMR's/Sniper rifles would be something like any M14 rifle, any M16 styled DMR, the A&K SR25, a modded G36, and G3 styled guns.
The G3 is probably the cheapest to mod to a DMR(just slap a scope on it), but the ARMY is phasing the KAC M110(SR25, with a different RAS), so the SR25 would be the most realistic of the lot if you were playing as a US team. You can get cheap versions of all the guns I mentioned above.

| those are all good suggestions, but I like the look of standard rifles more. in other words, bolt action rifles. AFU, I might look into that L96, otherwise the Bar 10 would be my choice. | |

| I would suggest the M700, but not if your'e playing in cold weather. L96 is great, the bar 10 can be something really good I hear with a little work. However I wouldn't go with a UTG M324...not the greatest rifle in accuracy or power. I would go with one of the first two. Our team sniper should have a M700 coming his way very soon, I'll report back on that when I see it. | |

| Well if you don't get an AEG, then my personal vote goes too the BAR. With $30 worth of sears and a new spring it can shoot harder than an L98(and you will save some money for high quality BB's).
But honestly 400FPS is not that bad for sniping. I get around 200+ft accurately with my G-Spec, and its only shooting in the 380's.
IMO just get what you think looks the best, all the guns mentioned above are great for starting.

| well, at this point, I'm not really gonna get the M700, I now have replaced that with a UTG MK96. so now the Question is: BAR 10 G-spec or MK96? | |

| Just to make sure you are making the right choice. You compared reviews right? and matched up the stats side by side so that you can more easily compare the two, right? | |

| I think he's made a good choice, the bar 10 is the best bang for the buck, has a lot of good reviews, easily upgradeable to 500 fps, and if you have any problems with it you could post your problems on the site you got it from, here, or anywhere else because it's a famous gun and many people have it. I found on hitguns a while ago that they're selling a bar 10 combo for $130.00 http://www.hitguns.com/JG-BAR-10-G-Spec-w-Silencer-Airsoft-Sniper-Rifle-p/jg-367a-bar10-g-scope.htm It looks pretty good and you should have extra money for magazines if you had $210.00 zoned for a sniper. P.S. If you order from hitguns make sure you have a good understanding of the bar 10 and are sure you would like to buy it, because hitguns has a "all sales are final policies." | |

| I use the bar 10 and i love it, if you get the scope sighted in right, I can hit my practice target 4/5 times however with .2's it seems like the BB gets carried away very easy on semi windy days, however my thompson fires fine in semi windy days whats up with that? (sorry for asking this here >.>) | |
