SWAT gear cheaper than ACU why?

going through and adding things up for possible kits I found that SWAT style clothing was cheaper than a ACU set
Is this because ACU is more military'ish than SWAT or what

I'm confused.... SWAT gear varies alot, most of the "SWAT" gear is actually knockoff brand stuff that uses the SWAT name to attract buyers.

Could you maybe link us to this "SWAT" gear?

Well here let me give you a protip.

The vest is a static black cross draw vest, with "SWAT" patches. You probably want to look at something MOLLE, which allows you to put the pouches where you want them. You can get some MOLLE vests/chest rigs for pretty cheap, but they might not last you as long as some of the other ones.

If you want something that is going to last awhile but wont totally break the bank, grab some Pantac stuff. pantac uses 1000D Cordure, meaning its as good as it gets before you start buying real steel pouches(EI, HSGI, TT etc etc).

Personally I use Pantac/Condor products, both of which use 1000D cordura. If you are just starting out I would say go for that vest you linked, but eventually you are going to want a MOLLE system. Also, really cheap but quality gear would be an LBE from your local surplus store, or some ALICE equipment. Ask them, they should know what that stuff is.
