| As some of you may have seen, in my signature I have a bar that says "Traceur" This is just french for "Tracer" which is also used to refer to someone who does Parkour. As for Parkour, Parkour is a martial art that basically involves getting from A to B using all of your combined muscular, aerobic, climbing, jumping, flexibility, and kinetic abilities. It is not just running on a set track, it is more often referred to as "Free running" but Parkour just sounds cooler . If you want a basic example, ninjitsu combines parkour with its lethality martial arts. Its also illegal in the US. lol As for me, I run when I get the chance. I live within two city blocks of a elementary school which is my primary field during the late after school hours on weekdays after all the kiddies gone home. On weekends a crew and I go out to KSU (Kennesaw State University, GA) and just own that place. The security and faculty have no problem with us and we have made friendly conversation with many of the students. They also try stalking us, especially their journalist department. We've seen a bill board put up dedicated just to us, with all our pics. Its our shrine...lol As for airsoft & parkour. It is not very practical, yes it will enhance your ability to gain cover faster than the OPFOR, or move swiftly through the woods or urban set up. But during a combat situation, rely on your infantry skills moreso than tucking your tail in your ass and free running the opposite direction, even though that works when you get cut off from your team. It will also get you to respawn faster or avoid zombies. | |

| I have always wanted to start "free running", I just have never had the time or even found a good place to do it.
Do they have forums, tutorials on free running?

| I have not seen necessarily tutorials. I'm sure you can find forums about it, and thousands of youtube hits. Pretty much like skateboarding, you can try to instruct yourself by watching it and seeing which position and technique being used.
Also parkour is not one of the things I recommend doing alone. But if you do go alone 1. Always make sure someone knows the area you are running and when you are due back (parent/sibling) 2. Always have a way to get in reach with EMT's/Parents if you do get seriously injured (cell phone) 3. Never try anything outside of your 'comfort zone' when your alone. Do only what you know you can do, but test your limits when you run with someone else.

| I skateboard in a regular basis and I have done some free running when don't have my board. it really teaches you to forget what the people around you think and just do what makes you happy, much like airsoft. | |

airsoft. Airsoft isn't about making people happy, its a sport. But yes, free running does give you a carefree feeling of freedom. You tend ignore tresspass limits and restricted areas during a session because while your running thru it, your also running away lol
