Is it a good rifle? I have been playing airsoft for over a year, and this will be my first sniper rifle. It seems like a nice one, but how does it compare to the UTG M234 and MK96, Bar-10, etc. I am planning on upgrading it eventually.
Also, I am talking about the spring version, not the gas.

Truth be told, I honestly like the JG Bar-10 because of its easy mods. If you plan to get a gun, and upgrade it, get the Bar-10 its quiet easy to upgrade it too. It has a nice fps after you fully mod it (around 500). We even have our own topic showing people how to DIY (Do it yourself) JG-Bar Upgrades. If I were you, the JG-Bar-10 is good to get if you upgrade it to its maximum potential. But this could be costy, so be careful.

Heres a link to the thread Mike is talking about. He's right about the amazing upgradeability of the JG Bar-10. It's one of the best, if not THE best, starter marksmanship rifles.

Thats the one
Like I said, its going to be costly, and your going to have to be careful, but it'll pay out in the end.

Keep in mind that there are multiple FREE modifications that you can do to the gun to increase performance. The airbrake and teflon tape modifications are the most effective. Along with step-by-step guides on the above link, you can search for videos with modification tutorials. 400 to 450 FPS in a matter of minutes.

What he said, there are alot of free mods like "The Airbrake" which requires you to take apart the gun, pull a pin, take out the cylinder head, and just hack saw it and sand it. PRESTO! 60-90+ FPS.

But a thing about the airbrake is that it makes you gun twice as loud. You should get a silencer to quiet that baby.

So it seems like the Bar 10 is the way to go. Which package would you recommend? Which upgrades?
Thanks again.

Wait to get money because the parts for the gun are expensive for the most part

Yeah, probably should wait. Is the g spec kit worth it or should I just get the scope kit?

You can get the g spec kit, and get a scope later, or you can get the scope package, or the jg scope gift package. I personally like the JG Scope Gift Package, even though its 170 bucks, you save alot of money
