How to Properly take care of A A.E.G. Empty
PostSubject: How to Properly take care of A A.E.G.   How to Properly take care of A A.E.G. Icon_minitimeTue May 19, 2009 3:59 am

Now alot of people ask this question, how do I take care of a A.E.G? Taking care of one is very important, and I will tell you some rules to keep in mind.

Rule 1: If you buy a high grade gun, use high quality bbs. Reason why is because imperfect bbs such as crosmans, usually have seams everywhere, causing the barrel to jam. Replacing the barrel can be expensive. It also voids the warranty if your barrel brakes due to low quality bbs.

Rule 2: UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. DON"T TAKE APART YOUR GUN! It voids the warranty, meaning you can't return it because of your clumsiness. It will void the warranty, and no store will accept it. So please, if you know what your doing, go ahead and take apart your gun. If your friend, uncle, cousin, aunt, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, brother, sister, in-law, uncle in-law, nephew WHATEVER knows how to take apart your gun and put it back together go ahead. But if you take apart your gun, and it breaks, you CANNOT RETURN IT.

Rule 3: Full-Auto issues
There is a piston in the gearbox, that gets ruined, if you fire in Full Auto for more then about 4 seconds. Shooting in a long burst in Full auto, may damage the piston. So don't try to empty your mag in one burst. Very bad. I hear suggestions about shooting an average of 30 rounds per burst. When you fire in Full Auto, BE CAREFUL

Rule 4: DO NOT CONTINUOUSLY DRY FIRE YOUR GUN meaning, don't shoot your gun in Full auto, for a LOONG TIME (explained in Rule 3, don't even shoot in full auto that long) without any bbs. That will strip your piston, and it also VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY Its very expensive to repair, or replace, so PLEASE do NOT CONTINUOUSLY DRY FIRE YOUR GUN. and also explained in Rule 3 DO NOT FIRE IN FULL AUTO IN A VERY LONG BURST

Rule 5: When done using gun in Full Auto, shoot in Semi. When you shoot in full Auto, a piston is pushed backwards to shoot the gun continuously. When your done using in Full Auto, shoot some in semi auto to reset the piston in a forward position. If you leave it after you shoot in Full Auto, It will compress the piston, lowering the FPS and accuracy.

Rule 6: Always be sure about the battery before you upgrade it. Upgrading the gun from a 8.4 mini to either a 8.4 large or 9.6 mini or even large, can overpower the gun. If a gun uses a 8.4 and you upgrade it to be a 9.6, there are two problems. It might not fit, seeing how a 9.6 is a bigger fit, and it might overpower the gun, which might cause performance problems. Always ask to see it'll fit, or work.

Rule 7: Always besure to charge the right hours into your battery Over charging it is bad, and undercharging it is even worse. When you first get your A.E.G. it'll come with a charger and a Battery. You want to charge it, a little longer then usual. I am so sure that most chargers that guns come with, come with Trickle chargers, meaning it charges constantly by itself. Charging a battery is no easy matter, you have to know how long to charge the battery. Becareful if it over heats,or else you'll need to buy a new battery. WATCH YOUR BATTERY[b/] It gives your gun life, think of your battery as a heart, its important because it gives your gun LIFE! (Or in this case, shots)

You can tell how long you need to charge the battery. You look at your (Trickle) Charger, and see how many Milliamp Hour energy it charges or we all know it as mAh. Look at your charger, it should say somewhere, BATTERY CHARGER 300 mAH or something like that. Just look for it. Then find the mAh of your battery. For example, I have a 1600 mAh battery, and my charger charges 300.

1600 / 300 = 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Also, I said this before, but this is important. If your battery is overheating, remove it from the charger!
This can damege your battery if not removed. You can charge it again when it cools down. But besure to keep track how long you charged it.
If your too lazy to keep up how long you charge your battery, you might want to buy a Smart Charger, they know when to stop charging your battery.

[b] Rule 8: BATTERYS DO NOT COME CHARGED
.

One friend of mine, he and his stupid self, he bought a gun, put in the battery, thought it was charged, and it would not fire. He returned the gun, and they just sent it back. He sold the gun, and now, he regrets it. BATTERYS do NOT come charged, so don't freak out if you plug it in, and it doesn't shoot. Charge it, then have fun.

Rule 9: High Cap Antanomy Another friend of mine sold his gun too, (I have idiotic friends) because he never knew how a High cap worked. He thought his mag sucked, so he sold his A.E.G. and now hes wondering, What was that winding wheel at the bottem? Let me explain. In High cap Mags, there should be a trap door. Open it, and fill your bbs in. There is a winding wheel on the bottem, wind it until you see the first bb come up the feeding nozzel. Then, you keep winding it until it double clicks, or makes a louder noise. You might have to wind the mag during battle. But not as much.

Let me explain some mags. So you guys can understand.

Box Mags - Hold from 500-4000 bbs. A majority are ran by electricity, so you have to charge them. Others you have to wind (see High Cap Antanomy) Their not usually durable so becareful when handling with them. Some are also very loud, so becareful. Usually made of Plastics.

High Caps - Usually made of metal, hold from 200-400. You have wind them, they don't run on electricity. They make a huge rattle when you run, because of the storage of bbs.

Mid Cap - Usually made of durable plastic, some metal, holds from 68-150. Do not need to wind, do not have a winding wheel or trap door. Just a feeding nozzel. What you do, get a speed loader, and put it against the feeding nozzel. Than just load the bbs in. They do not rattle, and are personally the best mags ever.

Standard Cap Mag - Mags made of plastic or Metal. Holds from either 30-50 rounds. Usually used for mil-sim games because of the mag capacity. Work same as the Mid Caps (see mid cap above)

Now believe it or not, thats all the advice I have in my head right now. I'll be sure to add more. Feel free to edit me if I'm wrong.

Yeah agreed. Maybe you should talk about basic troubleshooting (no pun intended Laughing ), as well as discussing how an AEG actually works. Other than that, great!

This is my 300th post. yay me!
