| yes its the right gun. the FPS of most clones is really misunderstood/misinterpreted. if i was playing i would use the gun as if i had 430FPS and tell the ref that i had 500FPS(so noone gets hurt).
good luck with that gun

| If it is a brand new gun then the FPS will be a little low until you break it in, but I am sure you have shot it enough by now so that it is near its top velocity. | |

Actually, I believe when you first get the gun the FPS is a little high, as you've yet to break in your spring. Springs are extra stiff brand-new, and it takes compressing/decompressing them many times to get them to the point where you'll typically be firing at a constant FPS. You're probably thinking of the hop-up rubber that needs broken in after you first buy the gun as well (takes typically around 500 shots). That can really mess with things too, although I'm not sure if it messes with FPS that much.

| wow, way to slam me there. Yeah, the hop up will throw your bbs pattern off a lot if I am not mistaken, as will too much lubricant. Perhaps I was a little hasty with to carry those to a FPS problem, but the moral of the story remains. You got to brake the gun in a little bit before you worry too much. Right ADMIN??? | |

lol. Sorry buddy. I have to make sure all errors are corrected to ensure people are informed correctly. Trust me, Seabass has corrected me several times on here and although it's a shot to the pride, I'm glad he does it. I know you're just kidding though and I understand what you meant. Anyway, I'm glad you mentioned the common problem of too much lubricant. This can definitely affect the gun's consistency. That problem can be fixed by either shooting it out or simply cleaning out the barrels and wiping off excess lubricant from the internals (not all lubricant, just excess). And yes, ROAMER, it's all about getting through those first several magazines to break in the gun's internals. After the first few games you'll really know your gun's potential and tendencies.

| Yeah what the heck were you thinking Roamer? J/K
Pretty much ANY airsoft replica will shoot harder right out of the box. Generally if its an AEG the spring will weaken over time (can take a while sometimes), bolt actions pretty much the same thing, but as long as you leave it un-cocked until you are about to fire it, the replica should retain its FPS for some time to come. Gas powered replica's may be the only real consistent FPS replica around... no spring means they wont wear down and lower FPS... not saying gas powered wont lose FPS over time, just not as fast.
Over lube can be a problem with many makes and models... and hop up break-in can take a while, but it shouldnt really mess with your FPS to much.
