JG Bar 10 or UTG M324S? (or other under $150)

I've been in the market for a cheap sniper for a while now. I'm a casual airsofter so I don't want to go crazy buying something if I don't think I'll use it that much. I'm looking for something under $150 and I've had my eyes set on a UTG M324 (Gen 3) sniper for a while. A few weeks ago I finally placed an order with u-t-g.com after finding that nobody has it in stock. Turns out they didn't either. They're getting the shipment by the end of July so if I'm patient I can get it there. I'm looking for other options in the meantime.

I like the cosmetics of the M324 better than the Bar 10, but if the 10 is really as sweet as it's knocked up to be, I'm considering getting that. The catch is that I already bought a 4x32 scope for it, and the Bar 10 doesn't come with a rail unless you buy it with the scope. I found a rail here but of course they're out of stock for a $20 mount.


So I have a few questions:

- Should I abandon my hopes for a 324 to get the JG rifle? Or are they similar enough that I should trust my instincts? (I would do the air brake mod and use a little teflon tape on the bar 10, and just put teflon on the M324)

- Does anybody know where to get a UTG M324S Gen 3?? (AKA have it in stock? I've checked all the usual online retailers)

- I talked with one store that seemed to have contracted a customer service team so they might be talking out of their @$$es, but he said that everyone was out of stock because UTG was in the middle of releasing a new model of that gun? Is there a possibility of a gen 4 M324?? I could probably be patient for this, I've been patient enough as-is.

- Other than my link, is there a better way to get a scope rail for the Bar 10?

well... I carry the utg m324s and it is a medium power with 2 upgrades possible. No treaded barrel.the bar 10 has many upgrades and a threaded barrel

WW it has threads. you need an APS2 threded barrel cap to use a mock scilencer.

and how do you upgrade the m324? other than Teflon tape in all those fancy places?


zuesbap. i have an m324 and wi will die eventually. and there is only one place in the US were you can get piston/trigger sears for it (EDGi).


the bar 10 comes with a rail. go with that. its allot more rugged and you can make it shoot ~ 500 fps( w/ .2's) in about 20 minutes. and want to know the best part? ITS FREE!!!!!

Not going to throw a mock silencer on there, so the threaded barrel is not an issue.

Just the teflon tape, but you can get a $50 tightbore for accuracy.

When you say it comes with the rail, do you mean the one that comes with the scope as well? I might just get it anyway, but I was don't really need another scope.

Has anybody held both of these guns? Does one have a better feel to it? I don't want plasticy or janky if the other gun is better that way.

the UTG is a plastcy and nasty
the BAR10 is is really nice.


the sears last a few months.........

TSD L96, its very good and upgradeble

but its $40 more than a BAR10. its VERY VERY VERY heavy.

definetly the BAR-10! I have owned both and I must say, the m324 is just OK, comared to the BAR-10 which is superior to most rifles under $200. The bar 10 is better in every way exept stock FPS, but there are guides on the forum and youtube that teach you how to upgrade it to 500 fps (compared to 425 in the m324) for FREE!! I cannot stress this enough, GET THE BAR 10!!!!!!. IT'S BETTER IN EVERY WAY!!!!!!!!!!! ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, RANGE, LOOKS, ITS ALL THERE!!!
