A battery will improve your ROF more than FPS.

I have the same battery, all it comes with is a wall charger that is not at all intelligent. It has a mini-type tamiya plug.

No you do not need a new one yet. You would first need to set up your gun before you get a new one anyways, especially if you are looking into LiPo's. Save up and buy a decent smart charger, whether it be $30 - $200 IDC the $30 one would maintain your battery's life and you would have no chance of it creating memory, whereas $200 charger, you just plug it in and watch LOTR (ON THE SAME SCREEN) Laughing

Some questions you may have...
Q: What is the best connector type?
A: Gold plated dean connectors. This type reduces ohms (resistance) in between each connector and allows for more flowing current.
Q: Best Wiring?
A: 16 - 18 AWG (American Wiring Gauge) "wet noodle" Less resistance, larger wire = lower gauge number and lower resistance.
Q: Best battery?
A: It depends, importantly it has to fit your gun, or your PEQ. It must be wired to the correct connector. The battery's voltage should be looked at according to your goal ROF, if your gearbox is modded for torque because its pulling a M130-M140 you would probably want to consider LiPo's if you want a RPS (rounds per second) around 20.

Good Luck

Just for future information,

increasing your battery size and output will not increase your FPS, the same size cylinder with the same spring regardless of batter size will always deliver the same FPS, what will increase is your ROF with an increase in Voltage.

don't you have to have a tighter barrel and better motor to have higher fps?

Not so much Asult;
A TBB barrel can increase velocity by 10-20 FPS and even that fact is arguable. You want a greater velocity you need spring upgrades and maybe a better cylinder.

hey, bud, sorry to be beating up on ya on your first post, but this really doesn't fit in this thread. but since we are the best, most professional airsoft forum on the whole world wide web, we shall let it pass. Smile
and for my opinion, i think it would be easier for you to start out with an AEG rather than as a sniper. see, it takes a lot of skill and patience to be a sniper. it's easier to start out as a normal "line grunt", so to speak.

unless you have experience with shooting and you have shot real-steel before...
