- Cadets at VMI are allowed to parade with fixed bayonets because during the Civil War, Cadets from VMI fought as an independent unit at the battle of New Market for the Confederacy. Therefore, they are the only Military Academy or College authorized to fix bayonets or wear red during formal parade.
I knew that but didn´t think it would have been the reason for the bayonets, Darn it !!! Panic did you also know that the Instructors and Cadets, were so well respected that the were sought after by both sides as Instructors and as Officers reguardless of Cadet Rank or Grade. Their disipline was and is above reproach. | |

| I didn't know that specifically, but its insane how well disciplined they are. There's a reason the school is referred to as the "West Point of the South." | |

| Jarhead999, you are kind of close with McCain, but he is the wrong guy,
Here are a few hints, He is from Texas, and also ran for President as an Independent, totaly funding his attempt from his own pocket, no govenment funds or donations.
He Lost
Forget the Hints, Panic slipped in the correct answer before I could Post,
Nice Going,

| Sabot(as in round used in the abrams): Missle projectile designed too pierce armor at really high velocities. Does not contain any form of explosive, it penetrates armor because of inertia alone. I can go on about its shell, but in this comparison I don't think it would be necesary.
HEAT: High Explosive Anti Tank round, this round uses allot of explosive material in the head of the round too penetrate its target. HEAT rounds also usually have a cone shaped charge of a high density metal that actually penetrates the armor, think of a Sabot but propelled by an explosion on impact.
