| Thoughts on Marushian 'Clone' M500 5-shot gas shotguns? I will be buying one along with a UTG L96 and misc gear and wanted to possibly hear some good words about either of the replicas...also, would propane be a better choice over green gas for the shotgun as far as economical playing goes. | |

| does the Mossberg Marushin have a hop-up? i don't think it does, and if it doesn't, you should use .12s since they are a heckuva lot cheaper. | |

| Held one at my locale shop. It was the one that was a very shiny silver + wood. Very nice action and very realistic looking/feeling. | |

| Jarhead, .12s would likely break it. | |

| jarhead, there are no high quality .12s (that you would find in a airsoft store anyway). If he were to use a .12, it would be unaccurate when comming out of the barrel, it would scratch the inner barrel thus making him buy, not one oh no, but three new barrels for his shotgun. | |

| Not to mention they break easily in your replica, shattering into a bunch of tiny pieces. Also, as discussed before many times on this forum, you can't go wrong with pretty much any L96. | |

| At an event, I saw a kid with one of these. During the cqb course, he was getting kills left and right. Also, the shotgun looked really realistic. One thing I noted was that when fired, the escaping gas made a nice muzzle blast effect. | |

the muzzle blast effect only comes about if you use green gas.

| Thanks for the input boys. Would an ACM M500 be a good choice? Id be getting one of those, if anything. And I wanted to know the pros and cons of the 8mm model. Thanks | |

| 8milli will hurt more, so you will have less friends. but who cares about friends when you have a gun that shoots plastic pellets, right? | |

| @ Sniper_32, the L96 Sniper Rifle does look and feel different than your average sniper rifle, But I think it's weight is balanced very well and you just feel great behind it. The 8mm BB: Pros: ~ will look a lot cooler when shot-that extra 2mm stands out. ~ Of course you'll get the "WOW" factor at events when you tell them that the wicked shotgun not only looks and performs goddly but is chambered for a bigger BB. ~ Of course that sucker will sting, you'll have greater stopping power.
Con: ~ Price will obviously be an issue ~ Every shot will have to be worth it- they sell these guys in very small ammounts. ~ Not sure on this, but some fields may outlaw it? not likley but hey just throwing it out there. ~ Can be less accurate than their 6mm counterpart believe it or not ~ You will likely have a slower velocity, meaning even less of a range, but if they make contact they will still hurt due to the size. (Not positive...maybe their weight will make them travel farther? BLEEHHHH confused myself)

| Things too look out for on these M500's.
-The Marushin cannot be opened up, I assume its the same with the ACM because its a clone. So when it breaks, its done for.
-8mm bb's are usually pretty inaccurate.
-8mm bb's are also hard too find and very expensive compared too 6mm....
Thats all, besides that I love the Marushin version... Racking the slide on that thing is just as fun as it is on the real M500!
