Delete this if it exists mods. But when ever im going to play a game i make sure i have and study the right maps.

My best maps include a satilite image (spelling) of the field.

I use several different tools to plan accordingly
A peice of projection paper with three allys written on it. left center and right.

projection paper with yardlines on it

projection paper with with Nav Points in it

And a radio

The sqaud leader has these very same tools

I report to the sqaud where i am as well as enemy troop movments. They in turn report enemy movments and buildings. Also they can put me where they need me with the allys or nav points. When used together the yard lines and allys form a kind of grip placing me exactly where im needed. I find this keeps everything smooth and organized and helps me get my job done.

The other great part is it fits in my navagtion pouch. Very Happy

EDIT
If you can figure it out i put those projection sheets on the sat image.

This is also a good way to eliminate wasted time on the Playing Field,

If you have advanced information about the playing field, you can map and overlay the field to eliminate areas that there will be no opposing force, Identify choke points, possible strongholds or defensive positions.

Overlay your Map, Black out all Open areas, Terrain that can´t be defended, Steep Grades, Pits, Streams/Rivers/Ponds/Lakes,

Now you see the actual size of your Playing Field, Do a Woodland Trace in Green ( Tree Lines ),
Locate the areas that can best be defended with the minimum amout of Players, Circle them in Red You have ídentified Possible Opposing Force locations.

Locate Choke Points, Box them in Red, possible Ambush or Sniper locations
all built up areas are Possible Danger areas ( Red )

This works well if you are a Mil-Sim Player, and if you are in a leadership position, reduces the amount of map to be learned, and based on your own individual experiances, eases your desicion making process.

Not bad but it might be easier to combine the two then give a gps device to the sniper team and to the team leader. that way the markings on the map would be more accurate

no the spotter would be the one to use it because the sniper is gathering the intel and the spotter is relaying it to the team leader
