I know that there are a couple other threads for music..but i want suggestions...like your absolute favorite bands

My favorite genres are classic rock, alternative rock, punk/ska, rock, irish bands...etc etc

Dropkick Murphys are a pretty good Boston Irish rock band. Tracenine, Sixty Miles Down, Dogfight, Deadsun, Burn Halo, Crooked X, and Dark New Day are some lesser known (at least to me) rock bands that are really good as well.

Well my Faves are Korn, All that Remains, Dropkick Murphys, Tenacious D, Green Day, and Avenged Sevenfold. I love hard rock/metal

Hahaha! Them and Rob Zombie are like perfect for pre-game listening.

Powerman 5000 has some good songs, they're a little like Rob Zombie (frontman is his brother actually) but less horror and death based and more sci-fi. If you happen to like German rock/metal such as Rammstein check out older Megaherz, Eisbrecher, Hanzel und Gretyl, Stahlhammer, and Ruoska.
