i need a gun!

i don't have an airsoft gun yet so should i buy a cheap starter or a 130 dollar sniper

Sniper RIFLE and don't get one as a beginner rifle. Get a basic aeg like an Echo 1 or a JG.

Start out with a few springers from walmart. the berreta model is the best for walmart guns. They are $20. If after you realise how much fun you and your friends are having with the springers think about getting a cheap AEG or two but for sure DO NOT start out with the $130 sniper rifle just because you think its the exciting role or the funnest cause thats only in the movies.

Well, there are 2 stances about first-time airsofters using sniper rifles (yay).

1. It is not recommended because it can be a boring role at times. It may give a new player false pretenses about airsoft as a whole. Often, first time snipers don't find the role suitable and give it up.

and

2. It IS recommended because often sniper rifles are the cheapest, most practical airsoft guns. You don't have to use electricity or buy alot of bbs. Its a "basic" starter gun that can help you learn about the game without spending a ton of money and making a commitment.

Honestly, I think any AEG and sniper rifle are both great starter guns. Its just a matter of preference at this point.

say you buy at bar10. some DIY upgrades and you can shoot bout 500fps...BUT.....

FPS isn't everything. you can be shooting 600 fps and not be hitting 200'. i am currently using a stoke bar10 but im about to put $200 worth of ed-GI stuff into it

it takes so much time patience and dedication to become a sniper....lets just say you don't even know how much. it takes hundreds of hours to fine tune your gun and scope until you can drive tacks with it. then comes the ghillie. it took my mentor(Ghost) over 20 hours of tying jute to get his just right. its a long road....one i think is in your best interest not to take.
