| I can only take so much of one band...in this case metallica. They are good but after listening to albums worth of music, I need some different metal. | |

| Eh, Metallica's music isn't heavy enough for me... I like more of the SlipKnot-type metal.
ALTHOUGH!!! I do like the classics like Rush and those older rock bands.

| Metallicas great and all but I kinda got tired of listening to them... Well until they release a new album if they ever do again.
But recently i've gotten into the more chilled out music like 311. But a lot happened this summer I made some new friends and found out that I like country music now. Then school came back around and was listening to 2pac and Biggy and now im back into metal and hard rock. I can say I listen to pretty much anything as long as its got a good beat and the vocalists voice isen't extremly annoying.

Nonpoint Rob Zombeh This list wins. But to it I would have to add some of the harder stuff by Nickelback and (albeit in an entirely different genre) The Prodigy. I tend to group all of my "hard" music together, resulting in an aggressive assortment of metal, rock, electronic, and alternative.

| You're right, they aren't metal, but their sound is hard, fiery, energetic, and driving; much like metal. They use synthesized sounds to supplement their vocals, drums, and guitar/bass. Some of these synthesized sounds remind me of some of Metallica's techniques on guitar and bass.
I find electronic to be a nice buffer genre between the rock genres (including metal) and the techno genres, because it uses a lot of conventional instrumentation as well as some interesting synths.
One song in particular comes to mind: Invaders Must Die, from the album of the same name. Perhaps even Omen, also on that album. They have a hard sound, but with synth supplementing or sometimes even replacing the guitar and/or bass.

| I listen to the hardcore that goes past slipknot. Thrash metal, doom metal, whatever you call it, I listen to hardcore screamo. Granted, I listen to other types of music. The only thing I am completely intolerant of is country. Some of the bands I like:
