Hi all, I've been at this airsoft thing for a few months, and was convinced to join this community of airsoft players. Looking forward to wasting all my free (and some of my 'I-really-should-be-doing-something-productive') time here.
A bit about myself: First and foremost, I'm an up-and-coming web developer setting an eye on getting Island County, WA into the digital age. After that, I find myself spending a lot of time airsofting, even with the winter months coming up.
In the airsoft regard, I'm currently sitting on a JG G3 (first gun, and consequently, my best so far) and a (laughable) M1911 CO2 pistol. Coming in a few days is what I expect to be my pride and joy, a tactical carbine that I'm having trouble identifying (it's either an M4 por an M16). Anyone that feels like telling me what exactly the difference is (and if an M16 carbine even exists) I'd be happy to hear it.

Welcome Aboard, Glad to have you, if you should have any problems please feel free to hit myself or any of the other Mods up for assistance.
To answer your question in regards to the M4/M16, The M-16 has a 20 inch barrel and a hard plastic stock. The M-4 has(military version) has a 14.5 inch barrel and a hard plastic 6 position collapsible stock. The M-16 tends to be more accurate at long range than the M-4. The M-16 tends to be more reliable due to the longer barrel allowing more gas pressure to cycle the bolt a bit more reliably. The M-4 is easier to handle in confined spaces due to the shorter barrel.Beyond that they are basically the same gun.
Just a note: The M-4 and the M-16a2 are the military versions of the AR-15 family of rifles. They are select fire which means that they have the ability to fire both semi-automatically and in 3 round burst. The M-16a1 was full automatic. The Reciever Parts ( Upper and Lower ) are identical, it is the additional attachments that turn an M16 into an M4.

Good to see you mate. I believe the gun he's referring to is this one. So it's either a shortened M-16 or an M-4 with a full stock. Looks awesome either way. Your post reminds me: I really should be doing something productive. lol

Ello mate,
You've chosen a good place to join. We've got quite a few hobbyists on this online community that dedicate alot of their free time to answering questions and sharing their love of the hobby.
I'm currently studying graphic/web design at the Ron Hockwalt Innovation Art and Design Academy in California. After that, I find myself spending a lot of time airsofting, partying, wasting time with the girlfriend, playin' hockey, and of course...coming on AA.
In regards to airsoft, Im currently fielding a desert-digi designated marksman loadout featuring a G4-A5 DMR, C02 1911, and various other fun/prop items.
Welcome aboard.

Sup Tech, I pretty much am only good at taking crappy springers and making them pwn. Not that my Delta is crappy or that my G36c is spring.
