If you've ever watched tournament Xball (you know, with the inflatable bunkers), you've probably seen them playing differently than we do. Here are a basic moves that just might give you the upper hand:
Snapshooting: this is a speedball (paintball) tactic that is to be reckoned with. when many people pop out of cover to fire, they fire a good long burst. This allows you to be hit with enemy fire. But if you pop out just barely, fire one or two rounds, and then get behind cover (all with in about a half a second), you will be back behind cover before they can react or before their bbs can reach you. also, vary it a little: one shot out from the left, one shot from the right, one shot from the top of the bunker. Keep it so that they don't know where you're going to pop out next.
Playing tight: This is for if you only have a small space to work with. Instead of having your elbows jutted out to the side of your gun, point then straight down. curl up into as tight of a ball as possible. Practice snapshooting.
laning: shoot a solid stream of bbs in the spot between two bunkers where you think an enemy is going to try to run throught. they will run into a rope of bbs. Simple.
Bunkering: if someone is in a spot that doesn't allow you to get a shot, run as fast as you can past their bunker, shooting them several times on the pass. then slide into the bunker behind them. A good thing to do is have one team mate surpress the enemy player while you go in for the bunker move.
These will be moves that they will have never seen used, which means everything in a firefight.
I'll come up with some more later.

The only way I would see using paintball tactics as a valid way to play out is on a actual speed ball course.
In this case, Arkenstone Paintball Acworth, GA
I WAS THERE

Lone wolf, that isn't exactly speedball, more like a basic woodsball course.

Oh yeah and i hate Mike (TechPB), he's one of the reasons i got out of paintball.

Ya LW woodsball is more like AS so is Scenario. And when you think about it positions in speedball are very basic versions of AS units. Take for example the Snake. The snake slides into a bunker on one side of the field and leaves a protected flank for the team to move in.
Well the snake is like a sniper. The sniper sets up in a position where they can cover an alley of the field and anyone that comes down that alley is dead. Also if the team moves in that alley and makes contact the sniper supports them to push back the OPFOR.

@ Iliveforthis, Why do you hate mike? he is a great source of info and reviews, and IMO he has a great outlook on the sport.
Back to topic: Satan, that is a very good analogy. just like there are Back pllayers and front players, representing support players and agressive frontal assaults working together.

There were several games played on that field that day. But in that town area we played. We did 2 games where each team had to start on one side of the town and no one could go 100' outside of the town. That was speed oriented because the time limit was like 10 minutes

Multiple reasons. I think i'll continue this via PM.
Eh Wolf i guess that could be considered something like speedball being done that way, but i've played a few timed games in the woods in my time and nothing was close to the fast paced action of a field laid out for actual speedball. Regardless though whether playing on an air bunker field or in the woods, the tactics aveenvp suggested are good things to use no matter the venue. Believe me, it can be a shocker for casual woodsball players to run up against someone in the woods utilizing basic tactics like these.

exactly. people aren't used to fast movements like these in the woods

I can personally vouch for the usefullness of the bunkering technique. THis past sunday i was at a scenario game with about 400 people and I was hiding behind a tree. A team mate layed down fire to the right, and i moved in on the bunker (a piece of plywood against a tree) to the left. The guy never saw it coming.

yeah, I've gotten many kills doing that in games where people are used to hunkering down and shooting.
