| No it has no military obligations whatsoever. It's just a sort of military-based PE, education, and honor sort of program for high school students. From what I know, all you need is the will to do it and permission... Might want to ask Jarhead999 about that though. | |

| In MCJROTC (Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps), you are issued uniforms at the beginning of the year. Basic Cadets recieve two uniforms, the utility uniform (MARPATs) and your unit's PT uniform. Our PT uniform consists of scarlet shorts with the school logo on them and either a gold shirt with RRMCJROTC on it or a grey shirt with a unit emblem/motto on it. (our motto is "One Team, One Fight")
Around November 10, Cadets are given the opportunity to go to the Cadet Ball, basically, the Marine Corps Birthday Party. I did not go this year (EPIC FAIL!!!), but if you go, you are issued Dress Alphas, better known as Dress Blues. You are expected to return them, dry cleaned and in pristine condition after the Cadet Ball. If you are on Armed or Unarmed Drill Team or Color Guard, you will be issued a set of Service Deltas and I think a set of Dress Alphas. I was on the marksmanship team, so I wouldn't know, haha.

| And I believe, I'm not certain, but I believe that if you complete four years of MCSROTC you are qualified for OCS and E-5 rank enlisted, should you choose to go enlisted. | |

| Four years of ROTC=A Commision why would you go enlisted? Your thinking bout joint enrollment, if you join the reserves after signing a contract agreeing to commision for I think 6 years you get payed E-5 rank during college, after you get your commision and becoume a O-1

| Heres the official thing - Quote :
- What is the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)?
The Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) is a US Army Reserve Commissioning Program designed to produce officers for the US Army and Army Reserve. Once you are enrolled in college, have accumulated 30 semester hours of college credit, and attained at least 2.0 GPA, you are eligible to contract into the SMP. Once contracted into this program, you are no longer an enlisted member of the Army Reserve. Instead, you become a Cadet in the Army Reserve, and remain a Cadet until graduation from the university. - Quote :
- Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)
The ROTC/SMP allows you to be a full-time college student working toward a bachelors degree and participating in both the Army Reserve and in the ROTC program. An officer cadet in the SMP will be paid at the grade of Sergeant (E-5) and earn more than $240 a month during the school year while training one weekend a month with the Army Reserve. A SMP cadet will also receive a stipend of $350 as a sophomore, $450 as a junior, and $500 as a senior. I beleive the other forces have somular programs..perhaps with different names. | |
