| Would a good squad or unit typicly be made of. I was just wondering because im getting togeather a bunch of people and im going to try and whip them into a fighting unit and ive been thinking about roles inside this squad. What would the average squad have, like five to ten Riflemen (depending on the size of the unit) a DMR and a supporting gunner? Thats all i can think of off the top of my head. Can someone please help me out here? | |

| In a typical squad you would have (depending on size of the squad)... - 3-5 riflemen - 1-2 Sniper teams (shooter & spotter/DM) - 1 or 2 support gunners
So that's 6-11 guys right there. HOWEVER, this can be configured to your playing field or the game's objective (elimination, VIP, etc..) | |

| The 2 CQB guys wouldnt really work for where i play becuase its almost all woods exept for like two forts so basicly they would just be two more rifle men. Why would you need Two DMRs or a DMR and a sniper, couldnt you just use one? | |

| Well when I'm sniping (rarely) it helps to have someone to let me know what's going on while I'm looking through the scope. Also if the sniper has a bolt-action and the DM has an AEG...well let's just say it helps get out of sticky situations. | |

| Also if you split up to skirmish, it levels the playing field if each team has their own DM or sniper. Riflemen should also be able to adapt to other roles as they are needed. CQB, medic, grenadier, to list a few. | |

| don't drop the cqb people just yet, you might think you don't need them but who knows, if you got a small squad then have two riflemen train in cqb to, just incase. | |

| CQB specialists should be flexible... It doesn't matter so much how far the place is, they'll still be all the way in the endzones flanking the other team... | |

| Sorry to be coming in late to the conversation, but I just wanted to suggest the Marine unit system. You have buddy teams, which is two people, then you have fireteams, which are made of two buddy teams (4 People). Two fireteams make a squad (8 people), and three or four squads (24-32 people) make a Platoon. Platoons make companies, companies make battalions, so on and so on. Anyways, fireteams are made up of a Team Lead (guess what they do), an Automatic Rifleman (they've got the SAW), a Grenadier (take a wild guess on that one), and a Rifleman (do I need to explain?) Take a look at this article I made a few months ago. | |
