Holosights

What holosight is the best on the airsoft market, guys? I want it to cost under $200. How about this?.

I need to get rid of the Tasco Red Dot on my G36C; it doesn't work very well when you're wearing a facemask

Jarhead999, it doesn't work well cause you don't have a riser...
If you wear a face mask, you need to get a riser in order for it to be more usable
Is that the problem?

It's just hard to see through it in general. It's not that big. I'll try to post a pic or something.

Well the neat thing about the holosights are that they work PERFECTLY FINE with m4 iron sights, just wanted to bring that up.

I agree, 552 Holos are really nice. Though it might be a little annoying with your rear sight sort of in the way of the buttons.

Rear sight isn't that bad, actually. It's just a distance iron, like the ones on the M16 and M4, but it has an MP5 front iron.
It's the front iron that gets in the way more, but it doesn't bother me enough to try to take it off.

OH OH OH!!! Try this! It seems high enough to clear your front sight.

Well, a red dot isn't really what I'm looking for. A holosight or reflex sight is what I want. And besides, I want to be able to still use my irons, should I need them. With that sort of red dot, I would not be able to see them.

And what's the difference between the 551 and the 552?

The only difference is the length of the thing and the type of batteries they take.

The 551 takes cell batteries, which are harder to find than AAA batteries, which the 552 takes.

one is 551 is shorter and the 552 is longer but besides that there is no difference

So do you think I should go with a 552 or a 551?

Coming from a chemistry student: larger batteries = more reactants = longer battery life. So if Drummer is correct, 552 is better.

Yeah, I think I'm leaning more towards the 552. It's definitely going to look better on my rifle than a short 551, too.

i would go with the 552 because of the battery type and it looks good on just about any gun

G&P 551 is the holosight i have and i must say it has survived alot of abuse
also a 553 takes AAA too i believe
