| Not really sure where to post it as it is not actually a "which gun" question, but I wanted some advice on if I should get a scope or a red dot for an M14 EBR. Any advice would help, thanks | |

| Depends on what you are using your rifle for. Red dots are more for quick, close to mid range target acquisition, and scopes are for mid to long range target acquisition. They also take more time to sight in your target. | |

| (Whispers) I'll let you in on a little secret. I found a red dot at Walmart for $30. It's not that bad.
I just don't like it because it is hard to use with a facemask. | |

| Ehh, I'd go with something like this rather than a Walmart sight. Just to be safe.. | |

| Meh, I was just saying it's cheap, reliable optics, if he didn't want to dish out a walletful of dough. But the STAR isn't that bad. It's no Leapers, but it's not crap either. | |

| I have the Leapers red dot on my M4, it's great and only $5 more over the NC Star. Don't know about the Star but Leapers gives you a nice cleaning cloth and a extra battery which isn't to bad. | |

| If you're going red dot, I would go for something more like this depending on your price range, but if you want a good red dot, this is the one I would get. | |
