| Has anyone ever had any trigger time with Tannerite (aka Scarecrow)?
I've seen em at the local outdoor ranges and they look like so much fun.
Any experiences...are they as safe as people say...and how do you pack them?
I'd be using 1/2 lbs Scarecrow charges...they're like $6 a pop... | |

http://www.tannerite.com/I think its an ammonium nitrate mix of some sort...but I'm not sure. Supposedly it only detonates after impact from a high velocity rifle round or large blasting cap. It's used by law enforcement (bomb simulators and and ski patrollers (to initiate avalanches). It's "safer" than DIY mixtures because it comes in unmixed form and is in no way dangerous until mixed. You can even buy/store it legally in California! AND WE can't DO ANTHING FUN IN CALIFORNIA. | |

| Sadly my range club doesn't let me use Scarecrows. They say they are hazardous when other people are on the range. | |
