| I had a thread recently asking for help on my corpsman loadout...and the discussion arose about the use of medics on the playing field. So guys, just wondering how the rest of you incorporate medics and casualty determination? (If you even use em at at all) Generally the people I skirm with go by this: - Quote :
A player is hit...they must drop where they stand and gain the attention of a corpsman... When a medic arrives, they initiated procedure as follows:
Non-Fatal Casualty: "Where were you hit?" "Right leg." (Includes any limb/insubstantial body part) "Survivable wound. Return to reset and rejoin game immediately." (Places white band around right leg.)
Fatality: "Where were you hit?" "Upper chest." (Includes torso/head...vitals) "You are dead. Return to reset, wait 10 minutes, then rejoin game." (Places red band on chest-rig/plate-carrier.
Can be modified to suit OP/skirm's rules... Wouldnt recommend this for casual play, as it may make things confusing...especially with small ammounts of players. So what are your guy's methods? Comments, opinion, etc....? Relies on honor system...as does everything in airsoft. If you don't play with honorable people, don't even dream of this working. In fact, if you don't play with honorable people, ditch em!

| I think it seems pretty cool. Easy enough, gives you a reason to actually try instead of just staying behind cover shooting blindly... (Glares angrily at 10 year old with bowl cut thinking a 1911 was a Glock...'nother day, 'nother story..) | |

| Are you playing a sort of game where the medic/corpsman has to be healed by another medic/corpsman? Or are you playing a game where the medic/corpsman is hit and that's the end of the line for him/her? | |

| I think if someone is a medic they should only carry a pistol, and never fire or be fired upon... Geneva convention? | |

Geneva convention? Not to bust your bubble Creed, but............... Any person carrying a Firearm is considered a `` Combatant ´´, hence the name, COMBAT MEDIC, or COMBAT CORPSMAN, that nifty little red cross does not afford the Medic any added protection, it is only against the Geneva Convention to shoot a Medic or Medical Personel when they are in the performance of their Duties ( working on a Patient ), shooting an armed Medic or Medical Personel, is completly legal, the main reason why they have the option to carry a firearm of not. it is actualy common practice to single out the Medic as a Target of Oppertunity, the impact of loosing a Medic is devistating to any element be it Team, Squad, Platoon, ect.. @SPL. Durkee, Casualty, and Injuries simulated during a game are usualy laid out in the Event or Game Rules, and depending on where you live it may actualy be Illegal to do it ( ie Germany ). If you want to really simplify the simulation, pass out `` Hit ´´ cards, a little card saying where the player is injured, how long they must wait to return to game, or any other type of restrictions. Example, Wound, Lower Right Forearm, Medical Attention within 15 minutes of Hit, Return to game Immediatly Medical Attention after 15 of hit, return to game after 15 minutes, no use or right arm. You can vary the times depending on the type of game or event, make the action as simple or as complicated as possible, Evac, No-Evac, Multiple persons to carry, and so on. A good point about the cards, you can vary the injuries ( not having 60 players all hit on the left Pinkie finger ), vary the time for respawn or outright `` Out of Game ´´, Forces the Medic to react to multiple injuries and do triage if you have a CCP, forces the Team to protect the Medic, Lose the DOC you may be out for a very loooonnnngggg time.

Hit cards, cool idea. Simulated casualty/injury is seriously illegal in Germany? Thats intense! Wonder where that law came from

| Yep, simulated injuries and casualties are Illegal here, right now Airsoft falls under `` Re-enactment ´´ activities or Hobby, as soon as you introduce Casualties or wounded into the game it becomes a `` War Simulation ´´ .
The introduction of the law has nothing to do with the past military history of Germany, the Law was put into affect in the late 80´s due to the increased terrorist activity in Europe and Germany, RAF, Red Army Brigade, Grey Wolf, Bader-Meinhoff Gang, PKK, just to name a few.
