| There are several fields in CA, and next time I head out that way I want to bring my AEG. Also, my cousins in WA play. So my question is, how do you bring airsoft guns on planes without getting arrested? I've tried to look it up and haven't found anything conclusive. | |

| 1) you don't put anything resembling a gun on a plane, you WILL be arrested, orange tip or not. 2) Two if you try to sneak it in your main luggage, they do scan and will take it away..and if your lucky you wont be arrested.
The only way to get your AEG from point A-B is to - Ship it, but customs might take it away. - Drive to were your going.

| Another way to do it is to disassemble the rifle......its a pain in the butt, but has worked for me. | |

| yeah that might work, but if they do see it..and it looks like parts of a gun..especialy if its full metal...your going to have a hard time explaining it to the autorities..and either way you will never see it agian. | |

| Would there be some way to clear it with authorities? Like filling out some sort of form and getting it signed by a customs agent or something like that? | |

| @Zane, When i say dissassemble the gun, i mean completely, leaving only modular components such as gearbox, motor, etc. The only part i can see resembling real steel is the barrel...or am i missing something? | |

| I may need to call the local police department or TSA on this... You've got me wondering now, too! | |

| Same AEG's are full metal, when you take them apart..sure there might be electrical compoents..but the main body will look like a gun thats been stripped. And the electrical? possibly parts for a bomb. Your best bet is to contact TSA..tell us when you get a reply in ooohhh..a month or two | |

Paintball markers can be carried in checked luggage, we do not consider these firearms. I still am not sure, what if the guy at the scanner doesn't follow this? Should I tell him or what?

| There's a huge difference between a paintball marker and an airsoft gun, man. Paintball markers are obviously not rifles, even from x-rays. AS guns definitely look like real steel | |

| I'd run it by the airlines just to be sure. I know guys who've flown with their paintball guns before as long as they weren't with their carry on luggage. Even after reading that though i was pretty certain you could fly with firearms as long as they were stored in the planes luggage compartment. | |

| 1, Airsoft Replicas are considered toys, non lethal, and can be transported in your checked in luggage. 2, Interstate or inter-continental travel has different restrictions depending on the Airport you fly out of, most require an early check in, some of the different requirements are,
Hard Case, Seperate Gun Bag, Broken Down, Magazines and batteries packed seperatly ( away from Gun ), All Cases or Gun Bags must be Locked or Lockable, Pre-Inspection by Local TSA or Customs Office ( Case usualy gets sealed on the Spot ), Proof of ownership,
Your best bet is to give the Airport a call, they can put you in contact with the correct people.

| I once brought my paintball gun(mil sim) along and I had called ahead first and security meet me around the gate and took it. So then we got on our flight when we arrived the security at the other airport gave me my gun. well that is how I did it | |
