| I'm sure everyone has heard of the 8.8 earthquake on Chile. You've also heard that the earthquake shifted the earth's axis, (something like that) so now, our days are a little bit shorter. So that one or two or three days you play airsoft just got a few microseconds shorter. | |

| Was this really true? I heard about this at school, also. Does anyone have scientific fact to back it or is it just some myth? | |

Does anyone have scientific fact to back it or is it just some myth? I heard that it is true, measured, and backed up by pretty much every scientist. I can't find the link anymore, though. If I find it, I will post it. | |

| Doesn't really matter, the earth is a living thing, it doesn't bow to man's feeble inventions! | |

| I think it's a load of crap. On a planet wide scale i have a hard time believing a mere 8.8 quake (talking global scale here) could shift a planets axis. Maybe a super quake that's pole to pole but nothing like this one. But if it is true then i'll just say i couldn't care less about it. | |

| Yeah it moved it a bit...but in the grand cosmic scale even a mm can result in massive change | |
