Robotics?

Hey guys just wondering if anybody here is into robotics...I am on my school robotics team, and we are going to the World Championships down in Dallas, TX to compete against 350 other teams from around the world. And when i say robotics i mean the VEX system.

On an unrealted note, anybody into robotics as a career?

Well I do aerial robotics...pre-programmed flight paths for RC aircraft and airborne mapping...so KINDA robotics...but no "robots" per say.

Its all kinda the same anyway.

Never thought of it as a career...but I'm wanting to get into making more UAV's and possibly marketing them. Just gotta find an airsoft or paintbal company that wants to invest.

i MADE one called dumb bot, It was programed to follow a line, it went in circles and other patterns till we gutted it for the parts

haha WW was it using the VEX system? I have made one too, using a line following sensor

I take a robotics class in my school, but we usually just eat lunch and watch youtube videos.

@durkee: I have seen your LUAV project, and even considered doing one myself. However, i already have two expensive hobbies as it is (Airsoft and Robotics) and couldnt afford it.

At the moment i am applying to a few robotics/engineering programs at UMD and hope to get in.
