| Whatever you wanna call it, we've started a little bit of it today in PT. Today we were doing a few Marine Corps Martial Arts Program techniques, it was awesome! Another guy and I were trying to do a combat takedown of each other, and I whupped him, haha. I'll post more later, gotta go. edit: when the guy attempted to take me down, he came from behind and jumped on top of me. He is a big guy, about 180 lbs, 6'3", and on the football team. I managed to stay standing up until I could lace my fingers behind his head and fall back onto my back, slamming him onto the ground. This knocked the air out of him somewhat, and he hesitated slightly. I was able to use that to my advantage to turn slightly and put him in a head lock before he tapped out. The whole thing only took about three seconds. Oohrah! Does anybody else know any combat hand to hand fighting techniques? I love 'em! | |

| I've been wanting to learn something like Krav Maga for a long time now. I don't really have the um... physical resources.. for it, but I'm willing to sacrifice | |

| @Drummer I want to learn complete Krav Maga, too, but I only know a few things.
@Warsaw Go for it!
When it comes to fighting, I don't use a whole bunch of punches, I mainly use takedowns. For me, fighting is all about putting your opponent down as quickly and efficiently as possible.

| Dude, Muay Thai... that stuff is insane. I would not want to go up against that, haha. My language arts teacher is a sensei at an Aikido dojo around here. Supposedly, he's a master at stick-fighting or whatever, haha. | |

| Yeah it is a waste of time if your thinking about using it for self defense..but it is one of the best ways out there increase your flexibility (aka less injuries playing airsoft) And sparring is fun no matter what it is :p | |

| I had a couple of "friends" back in Denver that attempted to fight me with their toy kown do. It was a joke. While they kicked me, I sat there and decided whether or not I should waste my time and respond to it, haha. | |

| Well...some of the real masters could kncok yuour head of, but most of the schools are "belt" factorys, they offer you easy promotions in order to get your cash...and you mostly learn useless "Watch your language". | |

| I fight with pressure points. It is very effective, but it is pretty hard to do without practice. | |

| I've been practicing Aikido casually for a good year or so. I've tried a few different MA's, but this is by far the most practical style that I've seen. The way I'm learning (from a friend's dad), you drop all the ritual...one of the things I dislike about most martial arts. Too much ritual and asthetics.
Tae Kwon Do isn't my thing...too sporty.
