UTG M3 Shotgun Empty
PostSubject: UTG M3 Shotgun   UTG M3 Shotgun Icon_minitimeFri Jul 25, 2008 4:18 pm

Hey I figured I would post a new topic on my UTG M3 shotgun as it is a very interesting gun, and There aren't many topics under springers anyway, so I figure I could atleast try and help get the ball rollin'.

Here are some pics:
UTG M3 Shotgun I3011012
Heh heh, yep those are ma feets! jocolor

One thing that makes this gun interesting, is it takes shells:
UTG M3 Shotgun I3011013

A really great thing about this gun, is that it really is a tactical shotgun, it even has rifle sights:
UTG M3 Shotgun I3011014

I mostly use .20g with it, which are very affective, but every now and then I use .25g with it, and thos get extremely tight groupings, which I like ALOT, but I guess it just depends on whether you want a tight grouping or not. The tighter the groping you want, the heavier the BB you need.

Being a very Retro Airsofter, I of course was very hyped on the triple-shot effect. But looking beyond that, I will review the actual shotgun, not just the fact that it shoots three BBs.

ACCURACY is pretty good, The rifle sights are a godsend. I use .2gs, and it really can get some good distances. I can shoot across entire fields of 80-90 ft. and have atleast two of the three BBs hit, eight out of ten shots in the mag/shell. Close up, this thing is a BEAST. Even when using .2gs, they hardly EVER curve at forty-fifty feet. Maybe one of the three BBs wont reach its target, about one out of every ten shots. When using .25gs, The groupings of course are much tighter and accurate, and stay together longer.

THE SOUND of the shot is frightening. It is a WHAM noice, and you can just FEEL the power of the three BBs being projected. It sounds like its breaking when you dry-fire it, it sounds so strong. Although I'm, sure it isn't BREAKING. And the sound of THREE BBs slapping into ANY target sounds positively thrilling.

CAPACITY/AMMO is where I was slightly dissapointed. And not just because it only has ten shots, twenty w/ both shells. The fact that you can't buy more shells HERE is sort of dissapointing, but I am lucky enough to own the TSD pump shotgun, which uses the same shells...almost. The bad thing about those shells is that they only hold 14, but I do have FOUR of them. And I can buy more @ my locale retailer, But its THIRY DOLLARS for just THREE shells. The TSD shells also do not jam as much as these, which brings us to our most annoying problem with this gun. The shells that came with this gun jam SO MUCH its pathetic. In the two hours I shot this morning, the shells jammed TWELVE times, and I didnt even use my shotgun the whole two hours. And In the same time span, FIVE times BBs just poured out of the shotgun when I took the shell out. The TSD shells never did ANY of this.

THE ACCESSORIES with this gun were....new. It came with the classic UTG speed loader, which was placed in the styrafoam under the pump of the shotgun, to the right. To thr right of that, just under the pistol grip part of the shotgun, were the two shells (Mine were red & Black, but apparentley color may vary.) Further to the right, under the stock, was the sling. Talk about wierd, this sling has no hooks, clamps, or any other metal parts to attacth to trhe guns sling rings. Fortunately, It only took me about six minutes to figure it out. ( may take a normal person three, I'm kinda slow) The sling is HUGE, so you will probabley want to tighten it a bunch. But the bad thing is, the more you tighten it, the more there is of this annoying little flap hanging out, and the only real way to get it to not fly around or flap in the wind is to either stitch it to the other part of the sling, or tape it to the other part of the sling. The sling was an odd one.

COCKING this gun is harder than most springers, but don't be fooled, It really isn't that hard at all. But after a good long shooting session your arm may be a little sore. And if you try to caock it while still up against your shoulder, which I do quite alot, Your shoulder will become sore very quickly. When cocking it, you can really feel the power building up for your next shot. Every now and then, the pump will get stuck on your forwad push when coking it. when this happens, you have to go all the way back down, until it clicks AGAIN, and then go forward. This is bad because it then shoots like six BBs, and gets NO dostance and is NOT accurate.

OVERALL this is a GREAT gun. The three-shot is helpful, but the accuracy, power, looks, and reliability are really what makes this gun a real weapon.

Nice review doube-taps.

Now 45-50 ft. and a 3rd tight grouping is very good. Real steel with a no-choke swat tactical your lucky to get enough stopping power within 30-35 ft. with 0.0 12 ga. buck shot.

Now would you reccomend this gun to any beginner or would you tell them to stick with the AEG?
Also, I think the "breaking" sound your hear is just the large piston with the 3 piston heads...?

oh yea and this is first time im viewing this because of that ^ necroposter...lol no hate!

Do you mind linking the website where you bought the shotgun. One of my friends is interested in shotguns and I'm pretty sure he would enjoy this.

umm, bama_snipes i don't think they are in your computer, they are most likely to be on the forum. and changing your pass doesn't matter because you can crack user pass to this forum using n00b warez.

TO hacker: This h4cker is f*ck1ng supid, he probably has no clue what the h3ll he is doing. I bet h3 isn't even using a pr0xy, doesn't have a clear log on his comp., and forgot to brush his t33th because he actually sits and waits at a sl0w, POS macb00k trying to dl 2gb in n00b h4X warez.

You know you can look at the bottom of the screen and see who all has been on in the last 24 hours, right? I'm on almost every day - it's very rare when I miss a day.

People. Please quit causing a "hacker" scare. One person mentions it and then it spreads like wildfire and soon everyone swears their accounts are being hacked. Alabama, if someone changed one of your posts, change it back and immediately notify me. That goes for everyone. I'll try to get to the bottom of this, but here are some things you can do.

1 - Quit handing out your passwords to friends. I've had numerous members message me and tell me they gave a friend their password and how they think that friend is messing with their account.
2 - Don't have your browser save your password. This makes it so anyone can who has access to your computer also have access to your forum account.
3 - Change your passwords. A member said not to - but why wouldn't you? A trained hacker can bypass this, but it takes just a few seconds to change your password and it can still prevent someone who may have stumbled upon your previous password from doing damage! Also, choose a password that is not the same as the email address you supplied for this forum. That way if someone were to get your account information they would still have zero access to any and all personal information of yours.
4 - Don't panic! I will take care of this - just keep on doing what you're doing and notify me of anything else unusual that happens. Thank you!

Mine sure hasn't. And it has the accuracy of my TSD M14, for half the price and it's a shotgun. Under The Gun also makes much better quality AEGs. The only decent TSD AEG I have seen is the TSD M14.....and I'm pretty sure it is a re-branded UTG M14 which is much more popular. Just like TSD re-branded all the popular M87 shotguns from UTG. I personally own a re-branded TSD pump shotgun. It has half the accuracy of my UTG M3 triple-shot.

Not trying to rant here. Glad to hear from ADMIN again. Razz

Yeah, TSD makes a multi-shot.

I'm very confused. Which is a better buy between the UTG or TSD multi-bursts?

I lent mine to my friend, and he chucked it at my team leader, breaking the stock off over his skull, and tearing a piece of his ear off in the process. Verrrrry bloody. It was a great gun while I had it, though Very Happy
