| A bad trend has started and even tho I´m extremely busy with other things right now, More and more Members have been keeping me informed.
If you are using multiple Profiles, to either Flame, Insult, Aggravate or just be a General pain in the Fourth Point of Contact, not only are you going to catch yourself a Ban, but I ( and invite the other MODS to do the same ) will ban all your other accounts for the maximum amount of time possible, inform ADMIN and request a Total all encompassing IP ban.
Maybe we MODS are to blame for being a bit to easy with the FORUM Rules, but up until now things have been running quite smoothly, minimum ammount of problems, but now people are either attempting to push the limits or are confusing Kindness with Weakness.
To those that want to Play thier childish, immature games, you have been warned, if you doubt me, just go ahead and test me, I have absolutly no problem what so ever handing out bans for the slightest Forum infraction, sooner or later the disturbances will be removed, we will have more Banned Members than active, but the conversations, Threads, responses, Posts, will be of a better quality.

| Backing him up 100% AA is not supposed to resemble a soap opera drama or a 3rd grade classroom. I have been busy as well, and thanks to several top-notch members I'm still informed and quite ticked-off. Like SLob says, I know all the true AA members will take post quantity over member quality any day, we'll do what we have to do. I don't like dishing threats and I'll bet Slob doesn't either, but we're both just tired of this childish games, as the other MODs are too. So I guess what Slob is trying to get along is.... we're done playing good cop. Test us again and you'll meet Mel Gibson cop. | |

| Yeah I agree...seems we have a few idiots that cause problems and can't take the pain of the great ban hammer (*cough*zulu*cough*)...sooo they make more accounts and start drama.
I think the system we have in place works well, we see somthing odd, we notify the mods and it gets taken care of.
Also i don't know if its possible but when you sign up theres a list of rules right? Would it be possible to make it short and concise..say 10 rules or some such?..perhaps the small print rules below these 5-10 main rules. Becouse I know most people dontread those things..heck I don't..anf most newbies aren't going to read stickies, perhaps having a few in bold will grab attention and they will read them

Heck, I don't think I ever read the forum rules until about 4 months after I joined! Along with that, a longer sign-up process would work wonders. Right now you can make a new account in less than a minute... Extend that by asking more questions, asking for more information, and at the most extreme...imposing a "restricted" membership until a Mod has approved them for full abilities. Idunno, just a thought. Or we can just follow the forum rules...that'd solve the problem, no? Thanks for all you guys do, Mods.

Thanks for all you guys do, Mods. These are really good ieas, fellas, If you don't mind, I'll send copies of these to some of the other mods so they'll see it. Actually, I'll just link them this thread, so keep the ideas flowing!

| What about having a page during the application that forces you to read the rules? I'd reckon that would solve some problems as far as the rules go. | |

| You have a valid point, Insane.
Hmm.... let me think a little bit more.
edit: Okay, how about this? Keep in mind, this is just a shot in the dark, but what about a mini test sort of thing that would just touch on the most important things?

| Well, as suggested in the "+1" Option" thread, a karma function would also work wonders.
You can even set MODDB to automatically ban/suspend/warn/report members once their karma reaches a certain negative number.
Thats always an option.

| Mhm...that would limit new members greatly...but the ones hat do join will stay longer. Speaking from experiance here (GW FTW) if you have application process, and one requirment is to read the rules. you add a little easter egg in rules (eg if you read this say zomg penguins in your application) And if they don't say ZOMG penguins..you know they didnt read the rules ^^ Some of the more top end recruitment for guilds involved a actual interview on vent to make sure they sre who they say (and not kiddies) Just some more pennys I throw out there ;p EDIT: Admin already said he would look into a reputation type system based on a earlier sugestion I made...I think that would be simular, no? Linky link to that post

I love that idea, Zane. The problem with that, though, is that it would need to be changed probably about once every two weeks or so to keep members from sharing the pass phrase with friends signing up. And, seeing as Admin only hits the forum about once a month or so, this could be a problem, unless he puts in a second in command with capabilities to change the pass phrase.
