| I'm working on some tutorials for photoshop...and was wondering if there are any freeware video screen capture programs out there? Anyone have experience in this?
Was told to look at FRAPS...going to download that tonight and give it a try...but are there any other options?
BTW: I need to output file type to be .wmv preferably...
Thanks. | |

| If fraps doesn't work, try using Camtasia. | |

| I downloaded a couple of these... shoot! FRAPS was one, the other was.... something. I'll see if I can remember what it was, it allowed you to select what screen or window you wanted to record. | |

| Use Camstudio. You can set the exact area you want to record, using a click-and-drag option. It's cool and it works fine although for me it lowered the resolution a really tiny bit. I think it's Camstudio... I might be thinking of a different name. Oh well | |

| Myuhahaha! Double post...apologies Now that I have an AMAZING screen capture program, I need a converter. Jing exports as a Flash file. So I need Flash to .wmv or MP4 or something useable on a PC. Any suggestions? | |

| ah..well they used to :L
can't you change the recording mode of your capture program? If not just look around...theres many free ones out there, just make sure thier legit or youll end up with a virus.
EDIT: Isn't .flv flash?...it can do that :S

EDIT: Isn't .flv flash?...it can do that :S Nope, SWF is the only output type I think...but I'll try when I get home...maybe it'll be different on a PC. Naw its SWF...shockwave flash

Eh, I might just upgrade to a Pro account then. It has MP4 format options and a youtube direct upload feature... Only $14 a year...might be worth it.

| OK well, I played around with Jing for a while...but I'm getting mad because of the 5 minute limit and slow FPS.
So I'm going to check out FRAPS...since that seems to be what you guys suggest. We shall see. Will buy today (likely tonight) and do a review for ya-all.
